About the Course

Learn bushcraft skills on a one day course, run by the Field Studies Council.

This course is perfect for anyone interested in basic survival skills. It is also suitable for youth group leaders that wish to gain more confidence in taking their units outdoors for Bushcraft activities. This course offers participants the opportunity to learn and practice basic Bushcraft skills in Epping Forest. The majority of the day will be spent lighting fires and cooking outdoors; plus building shelters. Other skills that will be built upon include plant identification, looking at animal tracks and signs, foraging, water purification; plus basic knots and lashing skills. The final aspect of the course will be thinking about how to work ethically and to “leave no trace.”
