About the Course
Join us for one of our 6-week courses in wheel-throwing!
Classes run once a week for 2.5 hours at our state-of-the art studios in the heart of the Northamptonshire countryside (daytime and evening classes available).
In our beginners' course, you will learn basic throwing and trimming (turning) techniques, and will be introduced to the glazing process and glazing options. Learn how to centre clay on the wheel, and throw simple cylinder and bowl shapes - the building blocks of wheel-thrown pottery.
To ensure maximum personal attention, classes are limited to 8 participants; everyone will have sole use of their own wheel.
**All students on a 6-week course enjoy inclusive open-access studio hours outside of class**
If booking with a CraftCourses voucher for part or all of the course fee, please fill in the contact form above. Your voucher code must be provided at the point of booking.
What's included in the price?
All tools, equipment, aprons, glazing and firing are included in the course fee.
An initial clay allowance is also included; additional clay can be purchased from the studio as required.
**The biggest benefit with our 6-week courses is the inclusive open-access studio time we offer: come to the studio at your leisure during open-access hours (see website for full details) to practice at you own pace. An instructor will be on hand to offer help and advice.**
