Description
Come and spend some time in the Fubsies studio and give pottery wheel throwing a go! In this 2 hour workshop you'll get hands-on tuition and learn the basics of throwing on the pottery wheel. The session is led by experienced potter, Ruth, who will give you her advice and knowledge to help you get to grips with this fun and creative skill. During the session, you will see a throwing demonstration from Ruth and then you will be free to throw as many pots as you like in the remaining time. Usually, participants throw 2-3 pots during the workshop. From the pieces you have made you will then pick your favourite one and Ruth will trim, glaze and finish your pot in the following weeks. If you have your heart set on taking more of your wonderful creations home you can have them processed for an extra £7 each which can be paid on the day. Wheel throwing is a messy and wonderful way to unwind and let go! This workshop is open to anyone and everyone who wants to give it a try. This session would make an excellent date idea or a fun activity to come along and try solo. This workshop is taught in groups of 4 so you will get a good amount of hands on help from your tutor, Ruth. *Please note: Once the session has finished your pieces will need to be left to dry out before going through two separate kiln firings and a layer of shiny transparent glaze. All of this processing will be done by Ruth and will take approx 6 weeks to complete. You will be contacted once your pieces are ready to collect.* Participants must be aged 14 or over. All under 18s must be accompanied by an adult.

FAQs
This workshop is taught in an intimate group of 4 which means more hands on help from your tutor, Ruth.
You will be taught how to throw cyclindrical pots and bowls and are free to attempt any form you like!
Please wear your messy clothes! Clay can stain fabrics so don't wear your favourite things. Also please be prepared to remove jewellery and tie back hair where possible.
There is no on site parking but you are able to park on the road by the studio. This is paid between 9-5 Monday-Friday, otherwise free.
