Intermediate glass fusing at the Cheshire School of Glass

In-person course
Jacqueline Lawrence - - #18504

An excellent two day course full of useful information, lots of handouts and plenty of high end materials to experiment with. Jenny catered for eveyone's previous experiences in glass. Some of us had done courses with Jenny before, some elsewhere. A good mix of technical theory and practical to really give you a grounding of glass fusing. We made a lot of quality pieces in two day. I felt we all really had our moneys worth. Fab course. I recommend it.

An incredible experience. Jenny is so enthusiatic and knowledgable you can't help but enjoy eveything this course has to offer. I was fortunate enough to have Jenny to myself on this course and it really was awonderful two days. I'm amazed at how much I made over 2 days. The time went so quickly it was hard to leave. I will definitely go again to cheshire school of glass art.

'Glass for the garden' with the Cheshire School of Glass

In-person course
Samantha Critchley - - #18506

I have never worked with glass before, so I wasn't sure if this course would be appropiate for me. I would encourage anyone who has no experience in glass or has had a go before to do this course. Jenny taught me to cut glass with ease , create original designs ( even though I can't draw! ) and learn how the fusing technique works. At the end of the course we were given a well made metal structure to hold our glass work.

We had such a lovely day. Jenny was so kind and patient. I had never worked with glass before and was surprised how easy it was to cut. We made masses of decorations and the next day , after they had been cooked , Jenny had very kindly put beautiful hangings on the backs and ribbons to match. I found this very relaxing, which I never though glass work would be! I'm a amazed how fearless i became of the material. Good fun.

I was gifted this course for my birthday. Steph ran the course. It was wonderful. She is really knowledgable, patient and great at explaining the process. I made a wonderful panel that is in pride of place in my hall window. I can't believe in the space of 2 days that I made such a work of art! It was all down to Stephs brilliant teaching.

I recommend this course to anyone. Even if you aren't that artistic. We used clever tricks to create really professional looking imagery. Steph and Jenny worked really hard to give the absolute maximum to all 4 students. This course is fantastic. Thank you to both of you.

This course was exceptional. Jenny is so warm and friendly, but even more importantly a true professional. If you have thought about setting up a business or just having a glass workshop Jen provides all the key information and skills to get you set up. I made a mountain of stuff as well. I thoroughly agree with a comment someone else has put...
Jen is exceptionally generous with knowledge and materials.

Mosaic applique with the Cheshire School of Glass (Course inactive)

Liz Pearce - - #18342

I did a 2 day mosaic course yesterday at the Cheshire School of Glass. I made a huge mosaic, having never worked with glass before. I learnt to cut glass in to any shape , grind glass , bond and grout all to a pattern I designed! I didn't even get my Art O'Level, but Jenny gives you the confidence to believe in yourself and achieve wonderful results.

Jenny has taught me how to effectively set up my glass workshop. I learnt which kiln to get, what tools and materials I need, how to programme a kiln and which glasses to you - and the pros and cons of different glasses. I cannot recommend Jenny enough as a teacher. She is so generous with her knowledge and workshop. She genuinely wants you to learn as much as possible and correctly to set up successfully . I loved this course.

My sister-in-law and I had a great day. Jenny is an excellent teacher and she makes you feel like you're an expert. She was generous with the materials and the tea. I would highly recommend a course with her, even if you're not particularly artistic, this is a course you will come away from with a great sense of achievement

Thank you Jenny and Steph for the best course I have ever been on. You have made me believe I can do something well! The pieces that I made came out of the kiln really well. Even my family think they are fabulous. I have brought this course for my husband, daughter and myself (again ) to do together - in hope that my husband and daughter will see buying a kiln is a good idea. Cheshire school of glass is an excellent centre for all things glass .
