Introduction to glass fusing at the Cheshire School of Glass

In-person course
Charlotte Jeffery - - #34078

After a busy period at work, I decided to take a day off to attend a glass fusing class. It was the perfect antidote. Her studio is a creative haven and Jen is a generous and enthusiastic teacher. She helped me settle on a design and gave clear guidance on how that idea could be translated into glass. I created two panels that I am immensely happy with and I left with an enormous smile on my face. An absolutely brilliant day.

Response from Cheshire School of Glass:

Thank you so much. Great spending the day with you. x

Landscapes and seascapes in glass

In-person course
Charlotte Jeffery - - #34079

After taking an introductory glass fusing glass with Jen, I immediately booked this class for me and my partner. We both really enjoyed our day and learnt such a lot. I based my landscape on one of my Dad’s paintings of a landmark near my Mum’s hometown. My partner made a seascape of one of our favourite places. Jen helped us both - suggesting techniques and materials to turn our ideas into glass reality. It was such an inspiring day and my Mum loves the panel I gifted her.

Response from Cheshire School of Glass:

Awww, thank you so much Charlotte for the lovely review. I hope you are both well and busy quilting . xx

Beautiful rural setting , comfortable studio, loads of resources and great company in my fellow glass workers. Jenny is informative, encouraging, inspiring and knows just when to help out at that point when you are struggling. I had a very enjoyable day and am looking forward to seeing the finished product. A real creative haven.Thank you.

I was recommended this course by a well known UK Glass Suppliers . It was the best creative thing I have ever done, Jenny is an authority in the fusing area and her ability to teach specific kiln worked glass skills is incredible. It was such good value for money considering the materials and information I have come away with. She is a star.

I have never met such an inspiring teacher. There is nothing Jennifer doesn't know about glass fusing and creating beautiful artwork. Jennifer is a wonderful teacher who brings out the best in all of her students... even the lesser talented ones, like me and my husband! A truly creative and indulgent day where we all learnt so much and came away hungry for more of Jennifers time. Amazing experience. We will be back.

Jenny taught us all so much in 2 days. A wonderful experience and we all learnt so much. I had been on a basic fusing course prior to this one and would recommend both highly to anyone interested in learning kiln- based glass skills to anyone.

A well put together course that anyone would enjoy who likes being creative. You don't have to have worked in glass before to do this course, there was a mix of people on the course from beginners to people who had kilns. Jenny , the teacher catered for all levels with ease. Wonderful results in a lovely setting. All materials and refreshments included. I will go back and do more courses. It was good value for money I think.

I am a Secondary school teacher in school in Staffordshire. I came with a specific plan to learn how to use kilns , prgramme them, teach pupils glass techniques safely and find out costs of materials and where to purchase them.
This course exceeded my expectations. Money well spent with an exceedingly knowledgable teacher. a wonderful day.

I recently did a one day fused glass for beginners and it was a brilliant experience. There were 4 of us on the course and we had an introductory talk and then on to the practical part of the day. Jen was a fantastic teacher, sharing her wisdom and experience yet allowing us to be creative. I was apprehensive beforehand being a complete beginner but Jen has an easy going manner which put everyone at ease. I was delighted with the whole day and would thoroughly recommend it.
