Fagey reviewed: Sword Making Workshop in Grassington for 2 People

"Really enjoyable. Struggled at first to find the location but enjoyed taking the scenic route to it. Richard happily took on the challenge of making the sword and it turned out fairly decent considering it was a first for me. Thank you Richard. Would definitely recommend for strong and scrawny alike."

Caroline Vidican reviewed: Acrylic portrait's at my farm studio TV atist Marilyn Allis

"Marilyn's acrylic portrait painting course is the best course I have been on in a very long time. She is a brilliant and empathetic teacher, and takes the class carefully through the steps to getting a really good likeness. I am amazed by the portrait I produced under her guidance and feel empowered to continue and paint more portraits. Her workshop is beautifully situated and the day was unexpectedly sunny and warm, so we were able to paint outside on her terrace which was an added bonus. I would encourage anyone to do this class and would be really happy to learn more from Marilyn."

Dawn reviewed: From melting to money making - The business of candles - Online Course

"I can remember driving over in the morning feeling really excited and a bit nervous if I am being totally honest - hadn't done anything like this before. It was a big day for me, I wanted to soak up the practical side and also get some hacks on doing things better - I'm a novice, to say the least. Well, nothing about the day disappointed, Jane was lovely, the studio gorgeous. We had a good old long chat about stuff whilst I scribbled away trying to absorb as much knowledge as possible. Jane listened to my ideas and helped put me on the right track - thanks Jane you are absolutely right! I'm now on my way, still not ready to launch but I'm taking my time to get things right. The whole journey (PS I really don't like that phrase) has been brilliant fun, I actually have something to drag me away from the TV and hopefully, I'll make a success of it, but if not, I'm going to love making candles for my family and friends (and me) forever. All this because of a chance meeting with a friend of Jane and then a bit of guts to make contact and get on her course. Brilliant and thank you! x"

The Candle Coach responded:

"Ahh Dawn, such lovely words, thank you. I know you are going to produce beautiful products and in time a great business. Cannot wait to see it all evolve."

Shaun Laycock reviewed: Half day mosaic workshops with Laura Barnes.

"You know when you have a good day, a really good day….? Yeh, few and far between at the movement with Covid, but not today. Our day came with an abundance of good, thanks to Laura, at Todmorden. Myself and my wife enjoyed and learnt so much in such a short time, about the mosaic preparing, laying and grouting processes; coming out with a lovely mosaic plaque for our home. Laura let us decide events and we all went the flow. I will be recommending Laura’s mosaic experience to both family and friends. Well done Laura - we truly had a day to remember ❤️"

Laura Barnes Crafty Fox Studios responded:

"Ooh how lovely! Great to work with you both yesterday.... so pleased you enjoyed the day! Laura"

Lee Iggulden reviewed: Beginners Pattern Cutting Workshop evening course - The Sleeve

"Who knew a sleeve could change the whole look of a garment. I always thought a top/blouse/shirt was just a top/blouse /shirt but by doing this sleeve pattern cutting course I now have my own pattern block and can adapt it to make my top/blouse/shirt look completely different. What I really like about the sewing, tailoring and pattern making courses that I am doing at the Cambria Costume House is that they each build up my skills and knowledge and the Peter and Paula are so enthusiastic about me learning all I can to help me complete a garment. After booking on just the one workshop - Garment Construction, I have since booked on all the pattern cutting sessions and I am now doing the tailoring courses during the day. Brilliant all round, well worth the money as the expert guidance, support, help and advice are second to none. More, please... Lee Iggulden."

Jo F reviewed: Glass blowing course - taster

"This was a present for my husband and one of the best I have ever given him! This sort of course relies heavily on the instructors, and he came home buzzing and saying how great they were. His glass arrived yesterday and watching his excitement as he open the box and explained how each piece was made was delightful. 5 stars isn’t enough, this was well beyond excellent. We are trying to think of all the other people that we want to give this too now, it’s too good to leave! Thank you Steve and Chris"

Chew Valley HandMade Glass responded:

"Dear Jo, thank you so much for your kind review. We are so glad Chris enjoyed his time spent with us, it was a pleasure to meet him and spend time with someone so enthusiastic about glass making. Kind regards Steve, Chris & Angie"

Ruth McGrady reviewed: Animal pastel drawing workshops

"What a fabulous day! I had dabbled with pastels many years ago without much success, so I thought I would give Sara's workshop a go to see with some guidance things would be different and they were. Sara guidance and pace was excellent and I produced a really nice work of art( I'm the one holding the Sheep pic in the course images). I learnt so much that I am now very confident to use pastels for future projects. Thanks Sara"

Adam Rakich reviewed: 2 day jewellery/silversmithing course - all materials provided

"I highly recommend Sue’s two day jewellery course, which was brilliant. You learn sawing, filing, pickling, embossing, burnishing, reticulating, soldering and hammering to name a few, but it all feels very relaxed and not hectic at all. I learnt so much in two days. Sue is lovely and really knows her stuff, instructing you really well on to achieve the best results while giving you the space to unleash your own creativity. I’m so happy with the pendant I created, no one I’ve shown it to believes I made it by myself, but Sue made sure I did! Thanks so much, Claire"

Sue O'Mara Art responded:

"Hi Claire, thank you for the lovely words. You did well and the pendant is brilliant. So is the mad machine triangle piece! If you fancy a casting day let me know and I will fit you in. Take care and see you soon. Sue"

Karen reviewed: Introduction to Candlemaking

"We had great fun making a variety of candles with Wendy. It was a lovely, relaxed morning and Wendy is a great teacher. There is a choice of colour and fragrance for your candles and we also made some using beeswax. The shop is full of other goodies too and we certainly came away with more than just candles!"
