Dawn Lane reviewed: Machine knitting beginners workshop with TheaRose - learning the basics

"What a fantastic day with Thea. I have been trying to use my own knitting machine for a few weeks with sketchy results. One day with Thea and the theory became practical. Came away having made two small items which I am quite proud of. Would recommend this workshop to anyone just starting out with machine knitting."

"An extremely enjoyable and informative course. David is an extremely patient and knowledgeable teacher - as well being a maker of very fine and artistic furniture. ASC reviewed: Basic woodworking and DIY course

"An excellent course if you want to move from occasional DIY to more regular woodcraft. We had 4 in the group so all of us had a chance to use all the tools . David is a natural teacher, so the information and skills are easily absorbed. I have never used a saw correctly in 25 years ,until now. A 7 hour course packed with detail you just can't read about. Thoroughly recommended."

Katie G reviewed: Creative Vibe - Glassblowing Sessions

"My husband had always wanted to try glass blowing so I bought a half day session for the both of us as a Christmas gift. I was very apprehensive; my husband super excited. We had to reschedule because I double booked myself and Ricky at Creative Vibes was really accommodating. We had a fabulous time! Ricky was a really patient and enthusiastic tutor. The session was really hands-on and we got to make 4 pieces each. My husband had the best time, as did I, and we have already recommended the course to friends."

Helen reviewed: The Waxed Cotton T-Base Tote - Kit & Paper Pattern

"Stunning kit which arrived beautifully presented and with a true luxe feel. Thought the task would be challenging but worked slowly through it and totally proud of the end result. Showing off my new bag to everyone I see now! FYI the kit doesn’t come with the tools needed to attach the rivets but I made do with a hammer and teatowel. They’re not perfect but just thought I’d let future buyers know. Eyeing up other kits to buy next and have already recommended to friends too."

Nadine B reviewed: Beginner's Candle Making Private Workshop - Marlow, Buckinghamshire

"A wonderful way to treat my Mum for her birthday last Saturday, we both thoroughly enjoyed the afternoon. We were impressed by Sarah’s professional approach and we were able to follow the steps to create our own beautiful candles. My only slight disappointment was that the CraftCourses description of the course says that ‘homemade cakes’ would be included in the price (we didn’t see any cakes, only self-serve hot drinks) and it would have been a nice touch as it was my Mum’s birthday. However I would highly recommend the course and my Mum and I really enjoyed our first candle making experience together."

Candle by Events responded:

"Hi Nadine, I am delighted you and your mum enjoyed the workshop. With regards to the "homemade cakes" we stopped serving these due to covid, but will look at introducing this again, once all restrictions have been lifted. I have now taken this out of the course description. Enjoy your candles."

Richard Lowe reviewed: Woodturning 2 day workshop

"I have just attended the first of a 2-day woodturning course with Andy which was a wonderful experience. He and his wife Mary were very warm and welcoming and quickly set me at ease. We started by focusing on tools, the difference between scrapers and gouges and the methods of sharpening them, but soon I was getting hands-on experience of different techniques for both spindle and bowl turning. Andy's knowledge and experience of the subject are impressive, and he is a great teacher! I came away with my first bowl, an appreciation of the breadth and complexity of the subject, and keen to get in some practice before returning for day 2. Thanks Andy!"

Andys woodworking responded:

"Thanks richard , looking forward to the next day Andy mary angus"

Sebastian reviewed: Beginners 1-day 1-2-1 woodturning workshop for 1 person

"There are already so many nice words for this course and Simon and I can only agree and confirm. It was a very nice 3 hours course I had with Simon and because we had a nice chat about the world. We had to make it even a bit longer so I can take my own Honey spoon home with me (that I am now showing proud to any visitor coming for brunch). Simon is a great teacher, with passion for what he is doing that makes sure to give each person the best learning exciting fitting their individual needs. I can recommend this course to anyone that want to get to the next level with his Woodturning skills or if you just want to find out if woodturning is something for you."

Blended Monkey - pottery - woodturning - green woodworking - pole lathe - throwing responded:

"Hi Sebastian, Thank you for such a lovely review and I'm glad you had a fun day. You're the type of student that makes teaching the craft worthwhile :) Vielen dank!"

Jodie Pritchard reviewed: Mosaic workshop at Jackie Nash Art

"I had a brilliant day on Monday at Jackie’s one day mosaic course. Jackie was a fantastic host and her experience and passion for mosaics came across from the minute I arrived. There was just 3 of us in the group which meant Jackie had plenty of time to support us all and was a great teacher! I had great fun creating my mosaic and I’m really proud of what I accomplished in the time. Nothing was too much trouble for Jackie - she even got in gluten free snacks for me to go with my coffee! I recommend the session wholeheartedly and am sure I will be back for another go soon!"

Jackie Nash Art responded:

"Thank you very much for your lovely review. It was a pleasure working with you especially as you chose a floral theme. Jackie ?"
