Martin reviewed: Kate Morrell willow sculpture courses

"An intensive and fun introduction to willow weaving in the studio set in Kate's lovely garden - which had examples of her work dotted around for us to get inspiration from. With Kate's expert guidance three herons, a rabbit, pheasant, a duck and a chicken left in the clutches of the course members. Thoroughly recommended."

Katherine reviewed: Basic electrical course - part 1

"Unfortunately this course was very disappointing as there was no practical element to it at all. We sat in front of a whiteboard for 3 hours without a break. I had expected to have some hands on activities but when I queried this David told me that would happen if I booked on the second electrical course. I definitely wouldn’t recommend if you just want to learn some basic skills and I won’t be booking on any further courses."

Marianne reviewed: Beginners Modern Calligraphy with Laney's Lettering

"What a wonderful course. As a former teacher myself I must commend Bonnie for her excellent work pack. Bonnie's tutoring was also first class and we all came away with the groundwork of calligraphy skills to practice. I can thoroughly recommend this course to anyone who wants to learn modern calligraphy. Most of us were complete beginners so don't think you can't do it too!"

Laney's Lettering responded:

"Thank you for your lovely review, Marianne. It was a pleasure to teach you for the afternoon and it is also lovely to hear how valuable you found the course materials. Enjoy creating some more card with your kit and new found calligraphy skills!"

John Maloney reviewed: 3 Day Damascus Knife or Axe Making Class

"Wow! Thoroughly enjoyed this course. The tutors were knowledgeable skilled and attentive to the needs and various levels of experience of their customers. Gary and Jos are obviously skilled artisans and their patience and skill base lend themselves to a very enjoying and fulfilling experience. What needs to be said, it’s super fun realising a dream. Hot metal, hammers noise and something tangible to take away. If you don’t take the opportunity to do something like this then you will regret it for ever. It’s an experience I will treasure. Keep it up guys. Happy bunnies are miserable compared to doing this!"

Hollie reviewed: Pottery Throwing (Group Discounts Available) Lessons in Worcester

"I bought this course as a gift for my mum, who had never thrown on the wheel before. Chris guided us through each step prior to giving it a go ourselves. I really enjoyed seeing my mum having a great time, Chris was also really helpful with anything we were unsure about. We were super excited to get our finished products back, which we did today and they are fab. It's lovely to have something tangible to take away from a fun experience together. The studio was a little chilly but the cup of tea warmed our hands up before getting to work!"

Chris Greening Pottery responded:

"Many thanks for such a lovely review Hollie. It's especially nice that you and your mum were able to enjoy the experience together. Hope your pots get lots of use - they came out really well. Best wishes, Chris."

Peter Vincent reviewed: One day welding course for two people

"I booked to attend this course with a friend, both of us were complete novices so weren't sure what to expect from the day. Starting with some basics so we understood what we were wanting to achieve Julian was brilliant, so knowledgeable and happy to share his skills and experience as well as tricks of the trade. He matched the pace of the training to our ability, by the end of the day we'd both done lots of welds and learnt a great deal. A brilliant day that has inspired us to get own own kit! Can throughly recommend."

Sue Brown reviewed: Firebird Forge Blacksmithing School

"Oh Mort, he taught us how to forge and his biscuits were gorge. We went at it hammer and tongs, Mort was there to right our wrongs. Tap it gently ? no give it some welly, they make it look so easy on the telly. Bend it this way, then bend it back, tap it gently ? No ! Give it a whack. Stoke the fire don't let it die, a forge is no good if the heat's not high. Blacksmithing, would I recommend it ? Only with Mort there to help you comprehend it. We had a fab day, Mort was a most excellent tutor and a real bright spark ! My other half managed to make a tripod for a fire pit, I made a moose loo roll holder - every home needs one ? and a snake towel rail - every home one of them as well. Can't recommend him highly enough."

Firebird Forge responded:

"What can I say! Thats definitely the first and finest poem that has been written for a blacksmithing day. Thank you Sue, both for the wonderful review and the fun you both brought to my forge. It was a great day, again, many thanks, Mort."

"This was an excellent course and was great fun. Delightfully hands on, and the required theory was brief yet highly engaging. I walked away with two handcrafted items with my own creative touch and a new set of skills that I look forwards applying again with confidence. The food was also topnotch."
