Sarah Harrison reviewed: Lampwork glass making workshop in Nottingham

"What can I say! I booked onto this course last minute and I’m so glad I did. Rosie was amazing. So friendly and welcoming. She went through every aspect of the course in detail before starting the practical. I loved making the beads and can say I think I’m hooked. If you’re debating doing this course then I’d say book it. You won’t regret it. I’d give it 10 stars if I could. "

Peter reviewed: Stonecarving Weekend, Gloucestershire Cotswolds

"Thoroughly enjoyed the two days sculpting in stone. The sandstone was softer then I was anticipating so it didn't require a lot of heavy hammering to remove material. Sebastian gave advice and support when needed but allowed complete freedom with design and creation. This was my first experience with stone carving but will definitely be doing it again. Inspirational!"

Anne Recchia reviewed: The First Cut - lino cutting for beginners & rusty printmakers in Derbyshire

"This was a fabulous course! From the very start we were made to feel welcome by Liz. She explained step by step the techniques and processes we needed to use and helped at every step giving individual attention when needed. We were encouraged to use our imagination and I was amazed at what could be achieved in such a short period of time. A thoroughly delightful way to spend a day with good company and a great teacher."

Samuel Wicks reviewed: Woodcarving with sculptor Jason -handtools -gouging and whittling

"A brilliant course with a knowledgeable and enthusiastic tutor! Jason works to understand the ideas and abilities of each student, using his considerable experience to tailor the course to suit. Within the six-hour course, Jason covers all the tools and techniques necessary to begin woodcarving, while still leaving ample time to explore and develop ambitious carving projects. I began with no prior experience and ended the day with a decently sized sculpture. The perfect course both for those new to woodcarving and those who wish to develop their skills."

Jason Thomson - Sculptor responded:

"Thank you very much for your review of my woodcarving course. I really enjoy the dynamic days of my courses and meeting the brilliant and diverse people who attend them."

Richard D reviewed: Glass bottle cutting for beginners - Sittingbourne

"This was a very enjoyable morning learning how to cut glass bottles. Janet and Claire were excellent teachers, showing us just what to do and with great patience and good humour. All the equipment needed to learn the technique was provided, and the workshop took place in a well appointed cabin and with all necessary facilities. We got to make lots of items, including taking away a lovely storm lantern that now looks great in the garden in the evening. Particular thanks to Claire for taking the time to help me cut a very thick gin bottle, even though she was recovering from a recent operation. Thank you Janet and Claire for a very enjoyable course!"

Fancy Tat responded:

"Hello Richard, Thank you so much for your kind review. We very much enjoyed spending the morning with you and we are really pleased that you had a lovely time :) It’s lovely to hear that you are enjoying your storm lantern, and Claire was more than happy to help with the stubborn bottle ! Kind Regards Claire & Janet""

Neil McLachlan reviewed: Woodturning for beginners

"Excellent course - I felt that both days were really tailored to my personal goals, providing more technical detail when I wanted it, but plenty of practical experience to build my own confidence. The set up is perfect, really relaxed, extremely clean and welcoming. Stuart worked to my level - when I picked something up quickly, we moved on - but if I needed further explanation, we were able to focus on specific areas as needed. It's great learning a new skill and having been given the confidence to keep it going. Above all, Stuart is great company - the two days were great fun from start to finish. Thanks Stuart - I will be back!"

The Scottish Woodturner responded:

"Thanks Neil, I also enjoyed the weekend. You were picking it up well so hopefully you will get a lathe and the necessary tools. It's a great craft to learn and very therapeutic. Stuart."

I took a Parker Knoll arm chair to the class and it was my first experience of re-upholstery so quite a big challenge! However, Sarah's teaching was individualised and she was very helpful in all aspects. I look forward to booking more sessions in the future!"
