Ash reviewed: Making silk flowers workshop

"I attended the cherry blossom workshop hosted by Rose. I must say I was amazed at the result of what I produced at the end of the day. It was well worth getting the skills and knowledge throughout the workshop to end up with a beautiful piece of creative art. Rose took the group through each of the steps with the utmost professionalism and encouraged me as a non crafter to carry out each stage at a slight slower pace than the other attendees. The supportive environment in which the workshop took place was welcoming and time flew by. We were all so delighted and proud with what we had accomplished. I will make a point of seeking out another workshop to add to my crafting CV! Thank You "

Made with Rose responded:

"Thank you Ash. It is nice to see new crafters develop their skills and enthusiasm about a new type of craft. I really enjoyed the day and you should be justifiably proud of what you produced. Hopefully this will be the first of many Kind regards Rose"

Kate Stott reviewed: Beginners bowl carving

"Such a relaxed event. I loved my weekend at the Old School House. Nick and Debbie are welcoming hosts and good company. The outdoor work space is flexible, spacious and full of tools. Nick is a patient and knowledgeable teacher, able to work with students individually so you get to work at your own pace. I came away with a bowl and a spoon, more than enough to inspire me to do more green woodworking on my own. Highly recommended. "

Bekki reviewed: Furniture Painting Workshop (levels 1&2 techniques covered) in Preston, Lancashire

"This weekend I spent the most relaxing and productive day I've had in a long time, while attending an Upcycling Workshop with Jo (The Boho Shed). Jo is such a fantastic tutor, her passion and knowledge really shines through as she runs through lots of lovely techniques and top tips for upcycling pieces of furniture, picture frames etc. it is super easy to really immerse yourself into workshop. There was a choice of refreshments on arrival, I chose a lovely refreshing peppermint tea and of course, freshly made and dressed scones with cream and jam......and fresh raspberries. Such a lovely touch to create a really welcoming and comfortable environment. During the morning we learnt about all the different techniques, then Jo took the time to understand each of our visions for our pieces of furniture, then after lunch we were let loose on being creative - in which I completely lost track of time and just enjoyed the creative process. Saturday was in fact Earth Hour day, where the environmental/sustainable message is to spend an hour doing a sustainable activity - what better than taking a tired piece of furniture and giving it new lease of energy. Thanks, Jo, for such a relaxing and creative workshop; really looking forward to the upholstery workshop next! 🥰"

The Boho Shed responded:

"Lovely Bekki, what can I say! Thank you so very much for your gorgeous review and very kind words. I'm absolutely delighted you enjoyed the workshop so much and your Dad would have been very proud of you for restoring his precious piece of furniture. I love it that you were lost in creativity. What a great day we had. I look forward to seeing you again next month at the upholstery workshop. Until then....x"

"We did the Hare sculpture workshop yesterday and had a great day. Jo was really good at explaining each step, on hand if help was needed but let you do your own thing as well. Very hospitable, we were looked after very well all day long. There was a lovely friendly atmosphere, we all interacted with each other and all made a variety of different hares. Would absolutely recommend doing this with friends or family as a treat . "

Sue M reviewed: Hare Sculpture workshop with Jo Garden Art in beautiful Norfolk/Suffolk

"I went on the one day Hare Sculpture workshop towards the end of March '24. It was really well organised and Jo was brilliant at helping and guiding everyone throughout the day. I was really pleased with my Hare, the sculpting technique is really simple but also very flexible and everyone's Hare came out as a unique piece. The location is lovely, the workroom is really bright and there is plenty of space. Jo has lots of example pieces so you can see how your Hare will look if you adjust the 'posture'. It is a very busy day with lots of stages to work through, but it's not too intense so it's still fun. I hope to go back again and make more sculptures or buy some kits and try to replicate at home."

Jo Garden Art responded:

"Thank you Sue! I love how each hare ends up so individual despite the same starting point, materials and instructions. Just goes to show how each of us interprets processes differently! I look forward to seeing you again, Jo xxx"
