Callum Davey reviewed: Forge a Knife- Blacksmithing and Knifemaking Experience Day

"A brilliant day all-round. Jon is an excellent teacher and is completely invested in your success. I came in with a rough idea of what I wanted to make and he helped me clarify and then execute it. The forge is a great space and you can have plenty of time to make your knife. Jon stayed late to help me finish and was fantastic throughout. "

"An excellent course. Suz is a friendly, knowledgeable and patient instructor, who made the day so relaxing and enjoyable. I was totally immersed and focused on the project without a thought for anything else. At the end of the day I felt a sense of calmness. I had created a 'beautiful' basket and had an amazing day, which I intend to repeat by booking another course with Suz. R.E. reviewed: One day salt or pepper mill woodturning course for two people

"My husband and I are first time woodturners and had a great experience with Bill! He was kind enough to accommodate us for a custom date. Bill is such a nice man, very friendly, informative, and most importantly a very patient man. He taught us how to use the equipment and proper tool techniques to make peppermills that are a work of art that we are proud to use. He covered the safety, how to use the equipment, and all the tools we'd need and diligently helped us each step of the process, kindly correcting mistakes and showing the correct way. Excellent, thorough instruction! Bill's course was the highlight experience of our weekend getaway and we hope to meet him again. Highly recommended!"

Martin Jackson reviewed: Spoon carving taster session

"Yesterday I did a wooden spoon making course with Dave Atkin. It was a really good experience and I enjoyed every minute, I would highly recommend the session. The session lasted for 3 hours which included a demonstration from Dave, lots of practical work making my spoon and excellent teaching and advice. Dave was very welcoming, friendly and an obvious expert in his field. The time flew and by the end of the session I had made a wooden spoon using only an axe and a knife. A very rewarding experience leaving me with a great feeling of achievement. "

Toby reviewed: Spinning Wool on a Spinning Wheel - Individual Tuition

"I thoroughly enjoyed my two days with Bec at The Woven Briar. Bec provided great insight into different types of wool and the sheep from which it is sourced. She provided clear instructions and demonstrated the methods of carding and combing, through to getting used to powering the spinning wheel so that when it came time to start spinning I needed to focus less in my feet and more on my hands. Meeting Bec’s flock of sheep was a real treat especially Vita whom loved a chin scratch. I can wholeheartedly recommend this workshop to get you started in the world of spinning your own yarn. "

The Woven Briar Ltd responded:

"Thank you so much Toby it was a pleasure to spend time spinning with you. I can't wait to see how you take it forward and develop your style. Vita says hello!"
