linda baker reviewed: One day silver pendant and earring workshop

"A fantastic day thank you Jolene. I was a little nervous to be honest my craft skills are somewhat questionable (can't draw a circle or cut in a straight line), Jolene was so welcoming and easy to talk to. I was at ease within minutes of coming into the workshop. It was a pure delight to see what we would be doing - Jolene demonstrated all the stages first before we were let loose. I was on the course with two of my besties who are both very arty and crafty and both were off and running within minutes. I took my time to find my design assisted by Jolene and then I was off and doing. I could not believe it when Jolene said we needed to stop for lunch, time had flown by. I have never used a gas torch or soldered before in my life - such fun !!! My copper templates were so fabulous that i have them as an ear ring & pendant set - bonus!!! Working with the silver was wonderful, changing the colours by heating it, adding texture, depth and experimenting was simply great fun. I would highly recommend this as a fantastic day out and you get to keep your uniquely designed jewellery - what's not to like. I am particularly interested in coming back for the recycle workshop. Let me know details please Jolene!!! Thank you for an amazing day."

Anthony Lawrenson reviewed: Glass Fusing and Slumping for Beginners and Improvers

"Thank you Jean and Janette both so much for a fantastic informative fun day. I've learnt so much today my head hurts and can't wait to see the outcome of my efforts and just hope I got my 'tin sandwiches' right! Jean and Janette were brill and patient taking us newbies through the basics with a series of different techniques for us try with flexibility for us to adapt. By the end of the session we were flying solo creating master pieces (I hope) with plenty of guidance and advise on hand when required. It was amazing how much material there was available for us to use and experiment with, in such a friendly and relaxed environment. Also worth mentioning was the super lunch with homemade soups, bread and cakes not to mention fresh coffee. Can't wait to return for another session, so many ideas to try. Thank you."

Lesley T reviewed: Glass Fusing Workshop

"This was an excellent workshop which I thoroughly enjoyed and is fantastic value for money. I chose to make something rather complicated and Annie gave me a great mix of encouragement, support and help and I am delighted with the result. The group size is perfect, the hospitality is great and Annie is a knowledgeable, interesting and patient tutor. There is a good mix of teaching and hands on practice, a huge range of glass to use and many techniques to learn. I loved it so much I am going back and taking my mother in law to the beginners class next year. I think this could be a the second of many visits !"

Jo H reviewed: Printmaking summer school at Slamseys, Essex

"Intro to printing was a really interesting course. I loved drypoint etching using the press as well as screen printing, lino cut & monoprinting. It's amazing how different each technique was. It was handy to have the final session to revisit the previous topics to develop further. I think this was good value for money as there were cakes and tea and coffee available throughout the session, it was a very small group and the setting on a farm was beautiful. I travelled quite far for this workshop each week, and I definitely think it was worth it. Can't wait to book again, will be trying fabric printing next time!"

J H reviewed: Beginners fabric printing two day introduction at Slamseys

"Learned the basics of fabric printing, all of which I can keep doing at home. Met some lovely people, only four of us on the course, which meant there was lots of 1-1 attention. The barn and farm make a lovely setting, course supplies and refreshments were generous."

Lillian reviewed: The Natural Skin Care Workshop

"I completed the candle making business class and this course also. This course introduced me to new concepts and explained in detail the use of natural products which is what I wanted to learn all about. I left the course with a lot of enthusiasm and the start of loads of ideas. The course instructor was very experienced, patient and encouraging. I like that I can call to ask questions after the course taking this to a more personal level."

Steve Phillips reviewed: Beginners lino printing

"I took my wife of 26 years to this - it was a wonderful day that brought us closer together. My printing experience had been limited to the office photocopier to date so this course really opened my eyes to the versatilities of the form. The venue and facilities were excellent and I really enjoyed the cheese sandwiches. Tutor Ruth was very approachable and had a great sense of humour. Would recommend."

Kirsty reviewed: Two day leather work course - bag making

"Two of the most exciting, relaxing, inspiring, and supremely enjoyable days... ever! I learned so much. The process was a joy to undertake, particularly the stitching which was deeply absorbing. I think I would have to meditate for a year to feel so peaceful normally. And the end product? I still can't believe I made such a beautiful bag - it has even received compliments from strangers! Above all, the halloumi salad... if you have any doubts, let the lunch convince you."

Lynn Walters reviewed: Two-day Silkscreen Printing Course: Design and Print Your Own Fabric £170.00

"I absolutely loved learning to silk screen print with Caroline. she is a very talented artist and a patient and encouraging teacher. I have learnt so much working with her and have since completed some block printing with her too. I am always very critical of my own work, but I'm really pleased with the work I completed and its been a catalyst for me to go on and do more. I would highly recommend Carolines courses and as previous reviewers have said, the lunches are delicious and the studio is a gorgeous working environment."
