eric hawkins reviewed: One Day Small Leather Goods Workshop

"A great 1 day course and very good value for money. The course content was clearly explained and the projects suitable for beginners. You get to make 3 items from quite a comprehensive list. Sarah is lovely and very helpful; nothing seemed to be too much trouble. Lunch was excellent and we finished at around 5:00pm with 3 nice pieces each. Thanks Sarah and best wishes for continued success with your courses."

Anne Ward reviewed: Glass Fusing Full Day Introduction For One

"I have just attended a Glass Fusing full day introduction 1-2-1 course with Andy from Kalypso Glass in Burton. The booking process was very easy, and I received good communications from Andy, giving me directions and advice pre-course. I had to change the date of my course at short notice, which Andy arranged for me. I arrived at 10am, and I left at 5pm. I learnt how to score and cut glass sheets, and created a bowl, 2 standing wavy pieces - an under water theme and flowers in a meadow, a Santa Claus, a snowman and an angel. Lastly I made a colourful tea light. Andy explained the process throughout the day, telling me about different types of glass, how the pieces are fired, different temperatures used etc. Very detailed! Andy was very happy to share his knowledge and was very easy to talk to. He was very patient. I did this course as a one-off as I just was curious how glass fusing worked. The amount of detail would be very useful if someone was interested in learning more about the process for a hobby or for work. I really enjoyed the course and would recommend it, and Andy, to anyone who wants to learn about glass fusing."

Kalypso Glass responded:

"Thank you Anne, glad to hear you enjoyed your day with us, it was great to meet you."

Charlie reviewed: Pottery throwing day course in the South Downs

"I had an amazing day with Rowena. She's knowledgeable, patient, and has a wonderful sense of humor. I'll be back again to glaze my pots, and I'm so chuffed I managed to throw 6 items in the end! She listened and helped me build on my previous knowledge of clay. It was a very meditative process and I left the day feeling accomplished and chilled out. Keep your elbows on the bowl!"

Paddock Studio Pottery responded:

Rachel reviewed: Beginners sewing - Tote Bag and Zipped Bag - Day Workshop - Worcester

"I was given this course as a surprise birthday present by my daughter and was delighted with it. My sewing machine was handed down by my grandmother and I have learned on the go, often not understanding why certain things happen or what to do to resolve them. Judi gave valuable tips and answered so many questions, it's all beginning to make sense now. The size of the group was just right and meant that Judi was aways on hand to help out and advise. I was looking to do the cord cross body bag workshop but it's fully booked! I will definately sign up for something else."

"Spent another very informative day with Paul, this time learning the art of glass fusing. He is generous with his time, explaining each process thoroughly, before leaving us to create our own glass pieces, using whatever we wanted from his vast range of coloured glass, frit, beads and canes. Can't wait to see the finished pieces once they've been fired in the kiln!"
