Description

Join us for a day in the woods exploring bushcraft skills associated with spring. As the woodland comes back to life with fresh fibers, new growth, and wild plants, you’ll learn how to make use of the season’s natural abundance, from lighting fires with natural tinders to stripping bark for cordage and crafting simple tools and containers. We’ll also explore spring edibles and how to use woodland resources responsibly. Part of our Seasonal Bushcraft Series, this course focuses on practical skills and traditional knowledge shaped by the time of year. You’ll identify useful trees and plants, gather and prepare natural materials, and discover the foraging opportunities and traditional uses that each season provides. Every course includes fire lighting, natural cordage, and a hands-on craft project, all adapted to the materials available in that season. By the end of the day, you’ll leave with new skills, a simple tool or container which you have made, and a deeper connection to the woodland environment. Tools, materials, and hot drinks are provided, please bring a packed lunch. The course takes place under a large shelter, but as we’ll be outdoors all day, please come dressed for the weather. No previous experience required.
