Daisy reviewed: Blacksmithing Experience in Grassington (5 hours)

"Bought this course as a birthday present for my dad. It was really easy to communicate with Richard in advance and he was super flexible with the booking. My dad really enjoyed the day and he came away with a professional looking set of fire tools which he can actually use. We both liked that there was freedom to choose your own item to make, rather than it being specified and then potentially something not useful to the maker. Definitely 5 stars. "

Claire reviewed: Blow a bauble at Chew Valley handmade glass

"What a wonderful day. We were warmly welcomed by Steve and Angie and talked through the procedure . There are lots of examples to get ideas of what you might like to copy. ( although every piece is individual) we had booked to make Balls. Steve calmly explains again and off we go! Choosing our colours, first colour seems to colour the glass second decorates. Steve talks us through the process but lets go of the controls ( so to speak) but is right there to calmly take over at any moment. I now need to wait a couple of days for my ball to cool, then they will post it to me next day delivery. Which is included in the price. I am so excited. You can see his love of making things with glass , and sharing his passion with others is his raison d'être. Thank you so much for making our experience such a wonderful day to remember. We booked a table for lunch afterwards at the tea shop across the courtyard which was delicious and they cater for food intolerances. Well done New Manor Farm . You have a gem!"

Chew Valley HandMade Glass responded:

"Thank you so much for your lovely review Claire, so pleased you enjoyed your time with us. It was a pleasure to meet you all, your baubles should arrive with you today. Regards Steve and Angie "

Samuel reviewed: Stone carving one day taster session

"Me and my father attended this course together. We had a great day and came away pleased with two lovely carvings of a seahorse and a shamrock! "

Jane Turner Stone Carver responded:

"Thank you for your lovely review Samuel! It was a joy to have you and Clive on the course, and I am really glad that you enjoyed it. Your carvings turned out superbly, so well done!"

Nicola Flower reviewed: Felt Pictures-Painting with fibres - intro to 2D wet felting/felt making

"Thank you so much Heather for an exceptional experience 2D Wet Felt Making....... there were so many good things about the mornings workshop. On arrival Heather was welcoming, open and generous, the workshop space (her beautiful home), was very well equipped, immaculately organised and clean, everything had been carefully considered and prepared. Heather's hospitality and clear step by step instruction allowed for a relaxed and creative atmosphere. Heather clearly has a passion and enviable knowledge for felting and all things textiles but makes this very accessible to students with no experience. The pace of the mornings workshop was perfect and her openness in sharing her in-depth experience was limitless- it was truly a wonderful morning, thank you Heather."

Rachel reviewed: Upholstery classes in Norwich

"Lee is a great teacher - she passes on her skills patiently but involves you in the decisions about the process you understand not just what to do, but why. She is encouraging and kind, managing a room with everyone doing their own project - a proper plate-spinner. The atmosphere is calm, positive and friendly. Thank you."

Dave Hill reviewed: 2 Day Woodturning Course for Beginners

"I needed Mick to bring me back up to scratch after a 15 year break from woodturing. He was able to pitch the course taking into account what I could remember and what I had to re-learn. I had an enjoyable 2 days, managing a pen, nightlight candle holder, honey dipper and a bowl. I got to use one of his brand new lathes, unfortunately I don't think domestic control will let me buy one!! If you are wondering whether to do Mick's course - don't wonder. Do it!!"

Cheshire Woodturning and Workshop Training Limited responded:

"Hi Dave Thanks, I'm still laughing! That's such a lovely review and coming from you, I know it's from the heart. You were a dream trainee quite honestly, with your prior knowledge and enthusiasm for the craft. I am so glad to have helped get you back onto your woodturning journey. Please keep me posted with your new projects. "

Elaine Rutherford reviewed: 121 - An Introduction to Cold Process Soap Making

"A 1-2-1 day for a newbie on soap making. Simply the best course I’ve ever been on and worth every single penny. Emma’s a gifted teacher who is generous with imparting her knowledge and experience of creating soap for the last 14 years. Her course notes are exceptionally good and I feel like I am able to take the next step creating cold process soap competently on my own. We did theory in the morning and then had lunch. In the afternoon we focused on the practical side in her amazing workshop… when you are being taught by a guildswoman in a bone fide working soap room you just know that you are obtaining the safest, evidence-based, current tuition possible in the UK at the moment. I will come back for the advanced soap-making course . Thanks Emma ! "
