Amanda reviewed: "Sparkle & Shine": beginner mosaic workshops with Joss Hughes, Peacock Mosaics

"I bought this course for my mum and myself, to spend some quality time together. We both really enjoyed the morning. Neither of us had made a mosaic before, and I have little creativity but that didn't matter at all. Joss gave us full instructions and encouraged me find some creativity that I didn't know I had. The studio was full of all the mosaic tiles, I felt like a kid in sweetie shop choosing all the tiles I needed for my mosaic. The studio was set in beautiful surroundings and the snacks Joss provided were delicious. All in all it was a wonderful morning, I would highly recommend it. It's a perfect mothers day gift, birthday present or as I arranged, a treat for your Mum/family/friend."

Peacock Mosaics responded:

"Thanks Amanda, and I really loved seeing your finished mosaics after you grouted them at home. Your review has taken me to my gold badge ! ?"

Claire reviewed: Recycle that saucer - making mosaics with china

"Anne is a lovely teacher and explains the methods clearly. She has skillfully created and offered a great online course which answers many of the questions that people ask and wonder about. If you are new to mosaic or have some experience there is something to learn in her classes. I recommend them highly and I look forward to the next one."

Making Mosaics responded:

"Thank you - I hope to answer the questions before people have even asked them! It took so long to learn all this stuff pre internet, which has made mosaic such an accessible art form - it even used to be quite hard to get hold of materials. Yes more courses coming Claire.... thanks for your interest and review."

"Mosaicing is a great hobby and Anne is an excellent teacher with a warm and friendly manner. She takes you through the process in a clear and easy-to-follow way and you’ll soon pick up the basic skills you need to start making your very own works of art! The materials you can choose to work with are gorgeous (Anne makes her own lovely tiles as well). But be warned - mosaicing is addictive!"

"Anne has introduced me to the wonderful charming universe of mosaics and I am forever hooked. I've learned a lot of things from her courses, she is such a knowledgeable person, yet so kind and willing to teach complete novices the secrets of making lovely mosaics. She has such a sweet way of permanently encouraging you and making you believe that yes, you can make it! Thank you, Anne, you are the best!"

"Wow, thats a nice accolade! I think when you dissect any process and lay out the component parts - it is not such a secret, just taking it step by step. I hope you go on to make many wonderful things and hopefully when this is all over you might get along to a local class."

Janelle reviewed: Online Class - How to Design a Rag Rug

"I discovered Ragged Life by Elspeth when I was researching new crafts to try. Elspeth's YouTube videos and book inspired me to start rag rugging and I purchased tools and kits from her website. After trying some small projects, I'm ready to design pillows and rugs. In the online class, Elspeth shared a wealth of tips about choosing fabrics, colors, creating designs, transferring designs to hessian fabric, and so much more. She had great visuals and she emailed them to us after the class. The class was also small so we were free to ask her questions. I live in the U.S. and this is the only way I can take one of Elspeth's classes. Thank you for the online class!!"

Ragged Life Ltd responded:

"Thank you so much Janelle, it was a pleasure teaching you. It was great to be reaching that far afield with the workshop. Keep in touch and send us pictures your creations. Happy Rag Rugging :-) Elspeth x"

Nathan reviewed: 7 Week Silversmithing Jewellery Making Course Level 1 (Evening Courses - Merseyside)

"I finished the course last week and couldn't of asked for more. Carol takes her time to find out what exactly you want to learn and works round that. The work shop and suite are kept at great standards with everything provided. You get to work on sterling silver which Carol generously provides and also gives insight on where to buy and locate your own goods for the future. The course provides a lot more than just learning new skills, I came away with a good knowledge of the industry. Thanks a lot!"

Izzy Binx reviewed: Toadstools - needle felting video tutorial by The Lady Moth

"Zenia has created a wonderful tutorial for a magical Toadstool Duo; one large and one small. Her online tutorial is broken down into several parts which, paired with Zenia's lovely voice, is well thought out, well paced and gives even the newest needle felter the clearest instruction to create something truly beautiful. As an experienced needle felter, I was impressed with Zenia's creativity in making the delicate and unique parts which make up these special Toadstools. She truly has thought of everything to guide you through the process. I will enjoy creating these woolly fungi for a long time to come. Thank you Zenia!"
