Galina reviewed: Five week interior design course - interactive

"I really enjoyed attending this 5-week design course with Aleksandra. I’ve learned how to approach designing a room from scratch on my own and by the end of the course I created a complete design of a master bedroom. The course is engaging and interactive. Aleksandra is supportive, accommodative and helpful, she gave me good practical tips and supplied us with extra materials to dive deeper into each topic. I would definitely recommend this course to people who are interested in Interior design and want to give it a try."

Skela Studio responded:

"Hi Galina, how lovely to hear you enjoyed the course. It was a pleasure to have you there, see your progress in creating a stunning bedroom. Thank you for your kind review and I hope you will create lots of beautiful rooms in future."

Sue Pereira reviewed: Copperplate for Improvers - Regular Classes

"I have been having calligraphy lessons from Julie Chaney for 18 months. She is an excellent teacher, explaining and demonstrating the formation of individual letters, as well as teaching artwork and gilding. She is a very patient tutor, generous to share her expertise and the wide knowledge that she has gained from her experience, that does not appear in any textbook. I highly recommend her courses."

Julie Chaney responded:

"Thank you, Sue, for your kind words. I very much appreciate your support of my classes including my online sessions. It's always a pleasure to have you as a student and to see how far you've progressed over time (in no small part due to your dedicated practice!). Thanks again, Julie."

Sneha Jain reviewed: Recycle that saucer - making mosaics with china

"Anne’s course is a beautiful gateway towards developing and enhancing a new skill. Her lessons online are very patient, descriptive, easy to follow and suitable for both beginners and those who are looking to learn more. Every lesson is crafted in a good sequence, providing details of suppliers and material. One of the best things I like about Anne is her involvement with her students and responding to the queries in a very short time. Not only does she respond to what is asked but also guides and encourages. This made me feel valued and inclusive as she is very much part of your development. I really learned a lot from her ‘cutting techniques’. Finally, If I hadn’t come across Anne’s course, lockdown would have turned into a nightmare! Thank you Anne! ?"

Making Mosaics responded:

"Oh Sneha - thanks so much, it's been lovely 'meeting' all you guys, without mosaic lockdown would have been a nightmare, I'm so lucky I moved my studio back to my home 2 years ago or I would have been stranded without my 'stuff'. Thanks for taking the time to comment and I'm so glad mosaic has enhanced your life."

"This is a fantastic course that will guide you through the entire process from concept to designing and registering your own tartan. Ashleigh is a great tutor and goes above and beyond to help you bring your vision to life and I am thrilled with the tartan I have created. Even after the course has finished Ashleigh has been at the end of a phone or e-mail to help. Highly recommended for anyone with an interest in tartan or craft."

Helen Purchase reviewed: Snowy Owl - needle felting with The Lady Moth

"Hello, I did the duckling online Zoom workshop with Zenia. The course was a birthday present, meant for March, unfortunately, it had to be cancel due to the Covid out break. It was my first 3D needle felt day, and my first ever Zoom meeting. Everything went smoothly. Zenia was excellent, explained everything very well, she made sure everyone was keeping up with her and that we were all okay at every stage, before she moved onto the next stage. I am very pleased with my duckling wreath. I am looking forward to doing another needle felt day with her in the near future."

Sam reviewed: "Field with red poppies" wool painting interactive online course with live tuition.

"I thought the course was great with brilliant bright colours and a picture that I can give to my mum for her birthday next week. Raya has a way of putting people at ease and giving me the confidence I lacked before the course. I would certainly recommend the course to anyone who wants to try and create a picture with wool fibres."

"I took the owl workshop with Zenia. It was an excellent course. I am an experienced needle felter but this course went beyond my experience and taught me many new techniques. "Lucy's workshop is idyllic; my friend and I booked in for a ring making session in February and the day was brilliant. Lucy's advice and expertise were invaluable and I am very pleased with my finished ring stacking project. I had an ambitious design which we compromised on to learn the basics and I'm glad we did. Thoroughly enjoyed myself and would love to return one day!"

Rob M reviewed: Stool making course at Sallerton Wood

"I completed the three day stool making course at Sallerton Wood, which is a beautiful and peaceful setting. Andy, the course tutor, is down-to-earth with a calm and thoughtful teaching style; he has exceptional skill, knowledge and experience. Andy has put a lot of care and thought into the setup, with a fully-equipped workshop offering plenty of shelter and a kitchen/dining area for breaks and lunch. These areas have been lovingly constructed with trees from Sallerton Wood. The various tools you use to produce your stool have also been professionally hand-made by Andy. The whole experience was thoroughly enjoyable and I felt the most relaxed I have in years. It was a joy to be off-grid, in a lovely setting and crafting something from green wood (and I came away with a great little stool). I highly recommend this course and plan to come back again, perhaps to try the chair making course!?"

Sallerton Wood responded:

"Thanks very much, Rob, for your kind review, and I look forward to welcoming you back at Sallerton Wood when you are ready to participate in a chair-making course. In the meantime, very best wishes to you. Andy."

"I did this half day course with two friends. Richard is an exceptional teacher - he keeps things clear, gives you plenty of time to learn and try things out without micromanaging, and is extremely supportive and encouraging. We have already been back a second time (with a fourth friend in tow!) and will certainly be returning again in the future. I cannot recommend this half day course highly enough."

Amy Brodesky reviewed: Snowy Owl - needle felting with The Lady Moth

"I had a very positive experience at Zenia's owl workshop! She is an excellent teacher! She provides clear directions and demonstrations. She was well-prepared and broke the project down into manageable chunks to ensure our success. She prepared models of the owl at different stages which I appreciated it. She is patient and responsive to questions. Zenia checked in with us frequently and adjusted the pacing to fit our needs, while also ensuring that we would be able to complete the project by the end of the workshop. I would highly recommend her classes! I plan to take another one soon."

Barbara Welshofer reviewed: Recycle that saucer - making mosaics with china

"Anne is an absolutely amazing teacher! I am a relative beginner. I only started doing mosaics just last year, but hadn't done any in several months, so I needed a refresher. Anne's style is perfect for beginners and seasoned artists alike. She is personable, gives clear instructions, and she is incredibly talented! I have watched many YouTube videos on various aspects of making mosaics, but none even approach the accessibility and professionalism of Anne's courses. I am a very visual learner, so the ability to watch a segment, pause the video, try the technique myself, and watch again if I need to is key. Anne encourages learners to develop their own styles, which I greatly appreciate. The only thing I can imagine that would be better than her online classes is being in her studio! Maybe someday. In the meantime, my thanks to Anne for giving me just the encouragement I needed in these difficult times!"

Making Mosaics responded:

"Thank you so much, it's really fantastic to hear I'm doing it right - you were a beginner at a mosaic I was a beginner at making lessons - I've improved and Im sure you have too - thank you for your encouragement. Yes times have been difficult and i think I couldn't get through it without making something every day to lift my spirits, i hope others feel that too. x"

"My son really enjoyed making the large rainbow project with me especially the bit with the water. We have had a lot of art projects to do re schoolwork and he has been drawing rainbows for the local shop windows, Fire station - Dad works there and for the elderly who don’t have young grandchildren. Thanks again."
