Description
Couples can work together to create their own wedding rings, specifically in gold or silver. It's always great fun when couples work together! This is a 2 day Workshop designed to accommodate two people but is flexible, so if just one person wished to undertake the making of either one ring or two rings, this can be done. Please see booking options for the prices for one person or two people. COVID-19 Health and Safety requirements for students: Students are required to have had all their Covid-19 jabs and booster jabs. All visitors to the Workshop are required to have a lateral flow test before leaving home on the day they have booked. If you test positive Contact Lucy to re-arrange your date. Metals are not supplied. Gold is expensive and depending on the chosen design of your ring, it may require the making of silver prototypes. This is to ensure no wastage of your gold. What you will learn How to cut metal with a piercing saw. How to anneal and form your metal into a ring of the correct size. How to solder a seam with both silver and gold solders. How to file metal. How to finish and polish your ring/s to a very high standard. Previous experience is not essential, but it helps if you have some experience of making things with your hands. In advance of your session, you will be advised on suitable design options, what gold and/or silver to buy, and which bullion dealers to buy from. If you prefer to make your rings in silver a one-day workshop is feasible if your design is simple. Contact Lucy to organise/discuss.
