About the Course
8 week upholstery/upcycling class in fully equipped studio taught by Victoria Meacham, owner of VM Furnishing. Maximum 6 students learning modern and traditional upholstery with access to woodworking, spray painting, restoration and sewing instruction included.
Saturday classes are aimed toward intermediate and students with some experience as they are 3 hours rather than the Tuesday or Wednesday 2 hours, however, beginners are welcome. Beginners are suggested to tackle a dining chair or footstool. With a maximum class of 6, in this time, we should be able to finish a simple traditional overstuffed dining chair or 2 small modern projects. For those with bigger projects, multiple blocks of 8 can be booked on an ongoing basis.
The workshop is equipped for restoration and painting as well as making simple footstools from scratch with all traditional and modern upholstery tools provided. There is usually a selection of chair skeletons for sale if you do not have your own.
All classes are initially available in blocks of 8 but can be tailored as more or less time may be needed to finish projects. Please contact me for further information. The cost for 8 weeks is £240. Please see our website for a list of course dates.
If booking with a CraftCourses voucher for part or all of the course fee, please fill in the contact form above. Your voucher code must be provided at the point of booking.
What's included in the price?
All modern and traditional tools provided, all sundries available to buy in the workshop. Tea, coffee, snacks and drinks available.
