Silver clay jewellery making experience day workshop

Come and spend a relaxing day learning modern alchemy of silver clay. The class is packed with lots of information designed for you to start your journey using this amazing product or just have a wonderful relaxing day trying something new.

It is a great present to gift someone or a wonderful treat for yourself.

Where is it? - This workshop is being held at the beautiful Turner and Thom, between Stockbridge and Winchester in a stunning rural location.

Includes everything for the day including refreshments and materials needed for your jewellery so all you need to do if bring yourself!


What will I Learn?

On this beginners/intermediate course I will teach you the basics and a few intermediate techniques depending on what the class require that day.

We will cover the following;
​
Rolling out the clay
Texturing
Using moulds
Using fixable findings
Shaping
Cutting out shapes
Sanding
Polishing
Attaching findings, i.e. jump rings, drop earring, etc.
Torch firing and basics of kiln firing

NOTE: Additional techniques will be taught depending on time and level of students in the class.

You do not have to be crafty or have done any jewellery making before. The day is very relaxed for you to come and spend it in stunning countryside surroundings being looked after and giving you time to switch off from the world around you.

About the Tutor - Lisa is a fully qualified Silver Clay tutor and holds her Level 1, 2 and Higher Diploma in Art Clay, a metal clay brand, which allows her to teach under the Art Clay banner. She also holds an Award in Training and Education, which she gain in 2020 at Peter Symonds College in Winchester, where she also teaches Silver Clay workshops. Lisa is fully DBS checked so under 11- 17 year olds can attend but must be accompanied by an adult.

Please be warned though, silver clay is amazing but it is HIGHLY ADDICTIVE!

Cancellation and a full refund can be obtained up to 8 weeks before the course starts. Start dates may be amended on request.

What's included in the price?

Material to make your jewellery 1- 4 items depending on size includes 10g of Silver Clay, and findings such as ear wires, jump rings etc.

You will be spoilt at this venue by our wonderful host Margaret.
Don't eat breakfast before you come as pastries are available when you arrive with your drink. Lunch and pudding are included as well as yummy cake in the afternoon and snakes through the day and drinks. You might roll out of the stunning venue.

NOTE: Necklaces and clip on earrings are additional costs.
