Description
Welcome to my silver clay taster class. In this hands on workshop I will introduce you to the amazing medium of fine silver clay. You will learn about the clay itself and I'll share techniques and tips to enable you to make stunning pieces of jewellery. The class will begin with an introduction which covers the clay properties, how to handle and condition it and how to shape, add texture and details to your pieces. As you gain confidence I will demonstrate the essential techniques of rolling, cutting, molding and refining your clay. Once dry I will discuss and give tips to successfully fire your clay both using a torch and kiln. The class will give you the opportunity to create a pendant and possibly a pair of earrings, depending on size, tailored to your style. I will be on hand to help you throughout. When you leave you'll take home a beautiful piece of silver jewellery that you will be proud to show off to your friends and family.
