Custom Made Silversmith Group Project at Simply Amazing Jewellery School

Thank you to Viv for a wonderful day. Me and a friend did the rings and things - stone setting for beginners course. We had such a fun day and I came away with 4 rings! We squeezed a lot into one day and learnt a lot, Viv was very patient with us. Thanks again, I would really recommend to anyone looking to learn some new skills 👍🏻

I had a fab day making a bronze bangle! It was great fun learning how to shape the metal, and I'm really pleased with what I made. Would love to come back and make another!

Had a fantastic busy day. I made 2 rings with different settings and I love them both. I've learned a lot being a complete beginner and Viv was an excellent patient tutor.

I completed an 8 week course with Viv and enjoyed every minute of it.
She is very knowledgeable and easy going.
I learned a lot in the 8 sessions that I attended.
My main aim was to learn how to silver solder well but learned a lot more than that.
I ended up making a lovely small picturama from copper and brass that really surprised me. The finished product showed an art skill that I never knew I had. I obtained a good cutting skill with the jewellers saw as well.
I also made some lovely items for my wife that she now treasures.
A great course in a lovely atmosphere. I will attend more sessions to expand on the knowledge I have gained so that I can do more with this new skill.

I never thought I'd end up with six rings in one day! You get your own set of tools to use on the day in a bright and airy room, Viv was very knowledgeable and helpful, I'd definitely look out for more workshops with Viv.

I came with my friend and her sister, We had a fabulous day, Viv had so much patients with us . We each made 3 bronze rings and 2 silver rings, we were all very pleased with our results, it was so good to learn a new skill, thanks again Viv, ☺️☺️☺️

Her guidance, warmth and knowledge were amazing! Any questions we had, Viv would happily answer and also advise, nothing was too much!

A fabulous day in which I learnt so much and amazed myself by the super copper and silver rings I made. It was all done in a super safe environment with all the health and safety rules followed. Viv was an extremely knowledgeable, encouraging, enthusiastic, creative and inspiring teacher and I’ve come away wanting to do and learn more silversmithing which is just what you want from a good craft course.

This was such an enjoyable and informative course! The atmosphere was professional and safe, with plenty of room to watch demonstrations, learn and practice the techniques. The day was long enough to grow in confidence in order to express some personal creativity through the various methods of taking raw materials and turning them into wearable and polished rings. I managed to make some out of copper to practice using my finger measurements, then about four in silver I’d happily give as gifts. Just make sure to sneakily get everyone else’s finger sizes!

Really enjoyabke day.Viv was a great teacher and allowed us to gain confidence and provided help whenever needed. Viv made great efforts to ensure all the covid guidence was in place. It was great fun, give it a try , you will love it .

After waiting for nearly a year to be able to do this course bought as a gift for Christmas it was certainly worth the wait and a lovely activity to do on a Saturday. Lovely to learn some new skills and meet other like minded people on the course. My sister and I had a great day and have a great set of rings to show for it. Viv was a great teacher and communicated very well with us. I would definitely recommend..Thanks again!

A brilliant experience making copper and silver rings. Viv explained each stage clearly and coached us through the processes. I came out with some beautiful rings as well as a new found knowledge of the processes involved in metalwork. I really recommend this workshop!

We were given very good concise instructions for making copper and silver rings, and were able to do each process ourselves with gentle coaching. An experienced and skilled tutor, Vivien made an excellent job of giving us new skills.

Great workshop! We learned a lot and Viv was very patient! Came out with 5 lovely rings that I haven't taken off since.

The only things I might suggest is a proper break for lunch. We were happy we went out for 30 minutes but felt as though we had missed out on some parts as no one else stopped for lunch. One of the other attendees mentioned by the end that she was very hungry and needed some proper food.

I also think that a slightly smaller class size would work better as it was quite difficult for Viv to get around everybody, and of course, some people needed more attention than others.

Overall though, a fun and informative class - Viv explained the science very well! Would definitely attend another one of her classes given the chance. Thanks for everything!

I have attended one of Viv's workshops before and went again with another friend who fancied it, because I loved it so much (and I wear the silver rings I made virtually every day!!)
I made 2 rings for my little finger this time and suspect I will wear one or the other every day in future because again I was so delighted!! Viv encourages everyone to be creative and is so incredibly patient and informative. I would certainly recommend it to anyone who has not had a go before.

I booked this workshop for me and my friends for my birthday. None of us had made jewellery before. It was so much fun and we all got to be really creative with our time. Viv was wonderful, really helpful and patient during the day and helped all of us make what we wanted. She responded quickly to all of my enquires and gave lots of information before we attended.
We spent the entire time working and forgot about lunch. I enjoyed this workshop and would definitely recommend it.

First time I’ve done a jewellery workshop. Great combination of learning all the important skills but still being able to create our own rings, bringing our own ideas. Great day, would definitely recommend this workshop. I’ll probably do the course again as well!
