Reduction Linocuts - an introduction
Contact course provider
About the Course
This one day workshop will introduce you to linocut techniques to make your own multicoloured, layered prints using a single piece of Lino. This process is known as Reduction Linocut. You will learn how to translate your design at every stage, cutting techniques and how to make a print both with and without a press. You will also learn how to register each layer. This experience will enable you to continue to make prints in your own home without any expensive equipment.
Your workshop takes place with Janet Dickson in her riverside studio in Netherwitton, near Morpeth, in rural Northumberland. Janet specialises in making linocuts, inspired by plants and the garden, making work that reflects her design sensibility gained from a background in Graphic Design. She also has 15 years experience teaching in higher education.
