As part of our Art in the Barn Creative Arts Week you can join us to learn how to create beautiful paper sculpture. Using a deceptively simple process, you will learn how to make your own templates and create a cornucopia hanging and free standing paper sculptures, including hearts and fruits from vintage papers and old books, before moving onto tea cups, jugs and tea pots, which are the stars of the show. Once you have learnt the appropriate techniques at the workshop, and with just a few basic pieces of equipment, you will be able to designs and create your own sculpture; forms at home.
Our venue for the day will be the beautiful Long Barn which is at Meon Springs, set in the heart of the South Downs National Park. It is a light and spacious venue which allows you to be socially distant from other participants, with your own work space and equipment. We will be joined by artist and maker Liz Wellby, who lives and works on the edge of the Peak District in Derbyshire. With over 25 years of experience teaching and tutoring, Liz will guide you through this sculptural process, enabling you to create a range of outcomes that will be much admired by family and friends.
* In light of the COVID19 situation appropriate cleaning will have taken place prior to each workshop and additional cleaning will be carried out during the day.
