This is a full day beginners course where students will learn how to use elements from nature to make their own silver clay jewellery. They will find out about using silver clay and use it to produce two/three finished pieces using three different techniques -
1 - using silver clay paste on a leaf to make a pendant or earrings. This technique gives you a replica of the leaf, which can make a lovely memento.
2 - Using moulding compound, you will make a mould of a shell or seed head or similar, you can bring your own or use what is in the studio. You will then use lump silver clay to make a pendant from you mould.
3 - using a leaf or other natural texture, you will learn how to use it to texture a piece of clay and make a pendant or earrings.
Students will then learn about storing and rehydrating the clay and also about firing, polishing and patina.
No previous experience is required.
Cancellation and a full refund can be obtained up to 2 weeks before the course starts. Start dates may be amended on request.
All materials required to make three pendants will be included in the cost. Extras can be bought on the day if you want to make more or larger pieces if time allows.
