This is a full day beginners course where students will learn how to use elements from nature to make their own silver clay jewellery. They will find out about using silver clay and use it to produce two/three finished pieces using three different techniques -
1 - using silver clay paste on a leaf to make a pendant or earrings. This technique gives you a replica of the leaf, which can make a lovely memento.
2 - Using moulding compound, you will make a mould of a shell or seed head or similar, you can bring your own or use what is in the studio. You will then use lump silver clay to make a pendant from you mould.
3 - using a leaf or other natural texture, you will learn how to use it to texture a piece of clay and make a pendant or earrings.
Students will then learn about storing and rehydrating the clay and also about firing, polishing and patina.
No previous experience is required.
Cancellation and a full refund can be obtained up to 4 weeks before the course starts. Start dates may be amended on request.
All materials required to make three pendants will be included in the cost. Extras can be bought on the day if you want to make more or larger pieces if time allows.
Tea/coffee is available throughout the day. Please bring something for lunch.

I had a lovely day making jewellery with Marianne. I was taught three different ways of replicating nature in silver clay and the day flew by. My jewellery looked lovely thanks to Mariannes teaching and patience.
To anyone thinking about signing up for the course, do so, you’ll enjoy it.
Response from Grey Clouds & Silver Linings:Thank you, Carol, for your lovely review. I'm so glad you enjoyed your day, you made some very beautiful pieces of jewellery that I hope you enjoy wearing. I look forward to seeing what you make in the future when you get your jewellery area set up.
Had a fabulous day making three fine-silver pendants. Our instructor, Marianne, is very knowledgeable, and has a lovely, relaxed teaching style. I’d never made jewellery of any kind before, and didn’t expect to create anything of beauty, yet my finished items turned out well, and would not have looked out of place in any craft shop. Silver clay is an incredible material, and I was amazed how easy it is to work with. I have absolutely no hesitation recommending this course, which was both enjoyable and good value for money.
Response from Grey Clouds & Silver Linings:Thank you, Bob, I’m so glad you enjoyed your day. I loved the pieces you made, well done to you and I look forward to seeing what you do in the future.
