What can I say about Caroline and this 1 day course. After debating for a while about trying to put my hand to mosaic art, I finally took the plunge and booked onto a Sunday course. Absolutely fantastic day, Caroline's knowledge, tips, personality and abundance of hot drinks and snacks made the whole day feel like I was with a bunch of friends. I walked away from the day with an art piece for my garden, lots of new knowledge about mosaic art, and a great feeling of achievement. I would 100% recommend this course to anyone, whether experienced in mosaic art or not. Thank you for an amazing day Caroline, I look forward to putting everything I learned with you into a new art piece to continue the new theme in my garden.
What a wonderful day we had! Thank you Caroline for a lovely day. We learnt valuable tips right from the get-go. New skills, great "cheats" and tips, loads of inspirational ideas. Caroline generously shares and adapts for all skill levels. We met interesting folk, ate scrummy food, revelled in the heavenly mosaic surroundings. Will definitely recommend to everyone - even if that means future bookings are like gold dust.
Thank you Caroline for a wonderful day. I learned so much and feel confident now to attempt to mosaic my own home as beautifully as you have done yours. You and your home are warm and welcoming, and your homemade soup and cakes delicious! You are inspirational, and make mosaic accessible for all. Highly recommend!
So so thrilled to have spent the day at a one day workshop at Mango Mosaics! Whether it’s the first time you’ve done a mosaic, or have done a few trial and error projects like me, you will learn so many tips and tricks from the Uber talented Caroline Jariwala! We all walked away with our own design she so patiently guided each of us on: from concept, to how to nip and cut tiles, to best adhesives for the job, to grouting the finished project to hang on a wall! Delicious lunch and cake were provided, as well as several hours of fun and inspiring conversation! I only wished I lived closer so I could come more often, but I will be back, that’s for sure.
I did my first course with Caroline last week and was nervous as I'm not very confident about doing things like this. I really enjoyed the day with lovely participants and Caroline was great helping each of us achieve something so different and unique. Caroline was a super host too keeping us supplied with drinks and food. Well worth it!
Had a fantastic day with Caroline. I had been quite nervous about doing this as I am really not artistic, Caroline was full of encouragement, help and support and I achieved more than I ever thought was possible. It was a great day and I would not hesitate to say ‘give it a go’. I went with my daughter in law and we are both keen to do more at home. A huge thank you to Caroline.
Had a fab day making a mosaic piece with Caroline, she's generous sharing her skills and home. Everywhere in her house is inspiration and pieces of china from my youth used in amazing ways! She is chatty and friendly and really makes everyone feel they can do it.
Just back from a really wonderful day in Caroline's studio. She is such an inspiring teacher and I will definitely book to do another day's course with her in the future.
She advises and helps you in a relaxed and supportive way and her studio is bright and inviting.
Hesitate no longer. Book yourself on a course and I am sure you will not regret it.
The only sad thing - the day is over.
I went on a taster course many years ago and now a repeat customer of Caroline’s. Having attended at least 6 courses if not more. Although an avid mosaicer myself I always learn something new, a new tip, a new brand or technique. Caroline’s enthusiasm, knowledge and chocolate fridge cake is always a draw.
If you love mosaics, then you must do yourself a favour and book with Caroline Jariwala. I did her 1 day workshop in Adelaide, South Australia and it was brilliant. She is a wonderful, funny story-teller and skilled teacher able to cater for all skill levels. I learnt new techniques which has improved my art practice.
Don't miss out on a chance to work with Caroline !
What a fabulous course! Caroline is so enthusiastic and encouraging to all her students. Her own work is astounding and her home and garden are filled with wall upon wall of her wonderful creations.
The atmosphere on the course was very friendly and we were all inspired to produce some beautiful pieces of mosaic to take home. Having learned the basic skill it's something that I feel I could confidently do at home now having purchased a couple of simple tile cutting tools.
Caroline provided a really tasty lunch and hot drinks and cake were available all day.
If you are wondering, 'Shall I book this course?' stop wondering and do it, you won't regret it!
Fabulous day, Caroline is an excellent teacher full of encouragement and patience. Lovely time in her studio surrounded by her inspirational art. I am an experienced Mosaic artist yet always still learning and came away itching to try out new techniques and materials
An absolutely fabulous day. Caroline provides inspiration, education, entertainment and food! I came away with the knowledge and tools I needed to carry on playing with mosaic and a lovely (in my eyes) piece of finished art to show off to family and friends. Fabulicious.
What fabulous day! Caroline’s enthusiasm is infectious and her teaching style puts you totally at ease. Her home is a treasure trove of her own work and collections and is and inspiring place to work. I was amazed at what we all produced and I will definitely be going back for more marvellous mosaic makery. Thanks Caroline.
"Wow" What a wonderful day !!!
Can't recommend this course enough.
From tile cutting to a completed mosaic in one day.
After a warm welcome,we are given a brief tour of Caroline's inspirational mosaics, throughout her home and garden.
Next it's to her studio were we are taught basic tile cutting skills. Caroline is a wonderfully attentive teacher, who's enthusiasm for her work becomes infectious. Her studio has an abundance of materials and encouraged by Caroline to experiment, she offers help and advise thoughout the workshop. A delicious lunch of home made soup Tea laughter and chocolate cake all supplied by Caroline help to make this workshop warm and welcoming.
Worth every penny !!!
Kath Shearer. October 2017.
A lovely day to try something new!
Caroline took us through the rudiments of cutting tiles and set us going with what we each needed to create our own unique piece. We had help all along the way and timely demonstrations of each stage.
We had a lovely soup and rolls lunch in her beautiful garden, and tea and cake!
I didn't quite finish but that was no problem as I came away with what I needed to complete my piece.
A grand day!
A great day, the course was well planned and constructive. Caroline was an inspirational tutor who adapted to the 5 people on the course and helped each individual as needed.
Lunch was provided and was an excellent home made soup.
Caroline is an amazing and inspirational artist and it's wonderful to see how she has used mosaic in her home. I'd seen images of her work in Chile, and the projects she has completed over here, and also the very helpful YouTube videos, what a woman! If you go to one of her classes you can be sure of success as she guides you through the design process and the shaping of pieces for your own work. It's much more than that though, because you're also encouraged to have fun while she keeps her artists eye on you, giving just the right advice and help.
Shell - 25/6/17
A wonderful day.....creative and cathartic at the same time . Learned loads....made new friends and thoroughly lived Caroline...who is not just superb at what she does but is also a great comedienne. ...so much fun and laughter ......and went home with a piece of artwork . I'll definitely be returning and would recommend to everyone .
Loved the workshop. Caroline is very generous in sharing her skills and ideas. Brilliant work room filled with loads of goodies to inspire you. Learn about the correct materials to use and glue, grout etc. Then you can start to create your own design knowing it will be made to last. Small informal group setting. Soup, tea and like minded people. Highly recommend this course.
I have just completed the one day Mango Mosaics course - I can highly recommend it. Having no experience with Mosaics, I was a little apprehensive but it was a small group of 3 (there's only ever a maximum of 4 per group) and so Caroline had time to explain the process from a blank piece of plywood to finished article. You will certainly finish the day with enough skills to go away and make your own Mosaics. The course is run with a lovely relaxed atmosphere and lunch is provided (and regular tea and cake breaks!). If you're in any doubt, go ahead and book it, you won't regret it.
I attended Caroline Jariwolas mosaic course on Sunday it was a small group of 4 Which meant that we had a lot of individual attention when we were practicising our new skills. I was able to learn and practice the art of cutting and breaking tiles and using nippers which was my aim. i was also able to see the breadth of mosaicing and the use of discarded crockery. It was a brilliant day Caroline was clearly very talented and knowledgable and it was a joy to see the work in her studio but she was so inspiring and made us see our own potential. There was a very relaxed atmosphere and i felt able to ask any questions i learnt a lot laughed a lot and just love mosaics, I would recommend this course for anybody irrespective of age, gender and experience who wants to try out this wonderfull art in a relaxed and encouraging atmosphere, i loved it.

Fabulous course with excellent individual support and guidance. Caroline is a great teacher and very encouraging. You will be given loads of inspiration to help you produce your work. Also loads of tea and coffee and the most delicious cake!!
If you live in Bearwood then top of the list of things to do is to do a mosaic course with Caroline; if you don't it is definitely worth a journey. A chance to learn a fascinating craft with an excellent teacher plus an opportunity to get to know and enjoy the company of a small group of people. Of course I spent too much time laughing and talking so didn't finish, but Caroline just found time for me to come and finish off.
A small group and I managed to almost complete my project. Caroline said it would be OK to go back to get the piece grouted as it will only take half an hour. Plenty of tea and coffee on hand. Lots of colours to choose from and lots of help from Caroline. Surprised how tired I felt by the end of the day. Would recommend if you are feeling creative.
I was given a voucher for my birthday for this workshop. I felt very excited and very nervous at the same time. I really wanted to go but had worries, would I be able to follow what I needed to do ? What would the atmosphere on the course be like? I shouldn't have worried, Caroline is very friendly, makes you feel at ease and explains things exceptionally well. She made the day a joy and her enthusiasm for the craft is brilliant. She makes you feel very special with your own creations. I would recommend this course to anyone who has any craft interest. Got to save up to go again and this time take my daughters!
I have been on quite a few of Caroline's one-day courses. They have always been very enjoyable and I have created some lovely mosaics. She gives great advice, and offers individual help when needed. The group size allows for plenty of support and she is very knowledgeable about the techniques. I have been able to continue and finish work at home with her valuable tips and instructions. The great thing about the course is that it caters for all abilities.
Did a one day course in late November with Caroline. It was excellent. Caroline was friendly, welcoming, relaxed and patient. She showed us a the techniques we needed to get started and had an amazing selection of materials to utilise. She was constantly on hand to support and advise and being surrounded by her own pieces was inspirational. The day was exceptional value for money and a real treat for someone like me who loves dabbling in all things creative but can find it hard to schedule it into my busy life. Thanks to Caroline for a wonderful day,
I recently enjoyed a day's mosaic workshop with Caroline. She was a very warm and welcoming host who was very happy to share her knowledge and experience working with mosaics. She did some clear demonstrations of how to use the tools, showing myself and the other 3 participants different ways of cutting, outlining different adhesives and demonstrating how to mix and apply grout. Having done some mosaic work already myself, I had some very specific questions about a particular project I was wanting to do, she was very accommodating about tailoring her teaching to the needs of the group members depending on their level of experience and what we wanted to achieve. It was a hugely enjoyable day, comes highly recommended!
Enjoyed a great day with Caroline who offered friendly help and advice. She started us off by showing basic tile cutting techniques and how to work safely and then we were off with our own ideas. Very informative and supportive and her own work is displayed everywhere and is an absolute inspiration.
Such a fun day. Great teaching, materials, company, creativity, inspiration. It was my first attempt at something like this, but I really feel it's something that everyone can do. Thanks to Caroline and my fellow deliciousness-seekers. Have a go, treat yourself!
When you decide to let your inner child out to play I suggest you take yourself right up to Caroline's mosaic workshop. Had a fun day learning to mosaic, everything from the introduction to the tools you can use, Tile cutting techniques and then on to assembling your mosaic and grouting. 5 of us sat around this big table with our protective gear on in this cosy room eating yummy cakes as Caroline took us through mosaic-ing. We laughed, we shared stories, destroyed (tiles) and created our own mosaics. A day we'll spent. Some of the instructions were jumbled or lost in our laughter but Caroline is a hands on teacher and was always at hand to save the day. I would definitely recommend indulging your creative child. Thank you Caroline for the experience.
It was what I needed-a creative workshop to get teeth stuck into. Caroline was wonderful, a great teacher and the group size was just right. It ended up being 3 participants in the end which was perfect as it meant we had the time and space to create detailed mosaics. Thank you Caroline for the giggles, music and yummy cake :)
I did this workshop a few weeks ago and loved it! Caroline has a warm, friendly approach and is eager to share her knowledge and skills. I had a lovely day, created work that I'm really pleased and can't wait to put what I've learned into practice. I would thoroughly recommend this workshop.
I have been an admirer of Caroline's work for a couple of years and have always wanted to attend one of her workshops. When the opportunity final came I was both inspired and more than satisfied with what I learnt. As a mosaic artist myself it was lovely that Caroline was willing to share her tips of the trade and experiences. I learnt so much in what seemed only a short time there. Caroline is very well informed, helpful, patient and a lot of fun! I will no doubt I be attending again just to have some more of that homemade soup - oh and to do a bit of mosaicing ;o)
I have attended one of Caroline's small group workshops and had such an amazing time and learned so much that I booked a full day one-to-one session to help refine my new found skills. Whilst the group workshop was excellent, small group so we all got plenty of Caroline's attention, learned so many new things and creates to excellent pieces, the one-to-one session was worth every penny as I learned so much more.
I have been on three of Caroline's one-day courses. She is enthusiastic and very knowledgeable. The class size is small enough to get a fair bit of individual help from her and she offers great instruction. You will get the most from a course if you go with some idea of what you would like to do.
I booked this course as I loved Caroline's mosaics when I saw them and wanted to find out more. The day was amazing, funny and creative. Caroline's studio in her beautiful home was full of amazing items to use, and her teaching was exceptional; I came away from the day with a gift - knowing how to create something beautiful. I have applied that to a new, exciting and fulfilling hobby, which I am hoping will become something more than just a hobby. This course is well worth taking and you will come away inspired!
A warm welcome awaits and the course was all I hoped for.
Caroline is generous and talented and ready to share her skills and expertise in Mosaic Art in the comfort of her home.
A ready supply of tools, tiles, glass and patience at the work bench and sweet delights to accompany the endless pouring of tea and coffee.
A day was almost to short........Thank you Caroline
This was a most enjoyable day and a really nice mother/daughter activity to share. Caroline is a very welcoming host and generous with her time and materials. I don't see myself as very creative or artistic so was pleasantly surprised to take home such a lovely mosaic - easily good enough to give as a gift for Christmas. I have already bought a few bits and pieces ready to begin my next mosaic. Many thanks, Caroline, for passing on your skills and enthusiasm and starting me off on what I'm sure will be an exciting and rewarding hobby!
First time mosaicing after being inspired by Caroline's superb work on display at Heartlands Hospital. Her workshop was great fun, well organised and it was great to be able to have a finished piece to take home on the day - a 'honey badger at night'. Caroline's got infectious enthusiasm and great selection of tiles and bits and bobs to work with. Her written notes to take home too were really helpful! A great day and so pleased to have finally produced my own piece as a result, due to well-structured workshop, with nice company. :-)
Travelled from Manchester to Birmingham for Caroline's brilliant workshop. It is great fun, very well organised, and there are lots of inspirational resources. Everything you need is provided, Caroline demonstrates the techniques and provides individual help. The day flew by, and lots of lovely work was produced. Well worth the journey, and highly recommended.
I had a great day at one of Caroline's workshops with my daughter. We were inspired by the amazing mosaics in her kitchen - and it carried on into her lovely workshop. She has just the right manner - very knowledgeable and informative about how to do it - loads of demonstrations and ideas to help you and enthusiastic encouragement if you are flagging. Lots of beautiful materials to use and all the equipment you need to get stuck in . She really makes sure that at the end of the day you have produced something that you are proud of ! I really recommend her if you want an enjoyable and productive day.
Fabulous day spent learning mosaic. Caroline teaches the skills you need confidently & really makes you feel you can do it. Everyone achieves in a friendly, sociable atmosphere. Wish I was doing some more today & definitely going to keep trying out my new skills! Well worth the money & great 'me' time.
I came on the workshop for a treat with my sister and we thoroughly enjoyed our first experience of mosaic. Caroline is great fun and her studio and teaching created a relaxed and playful environment. The facilities and materials available are generous and inspiring and I am delighted with the piece of mosaic I have created. As a beginner I didn't expect to achieve such a good result.
Our first experience of mosaic-making with Caroline was amazing. The atmosphere she creates changed how we both felt within minutes. Throughout the day, the energy she generated and the support she gave helped us all achieve something none of us would have expected or believed. In one day! All the materials we could have needed were on hand. The group 'buzz' was also great as we saw each other tackling the challenges, small and not-so-small, all of us delighting in the products at the end of the day.
Since the workshop in July, we've started 'thinking' mosaics-seeing potential patterns and ideas, even looking at old pots and cups in a new way! Whatever anxieties we might have had to start with have been thoroughly blown away. A thoroughly enjoyable way to get into mosaic making and a "taster for later" too!
I achieved more than I ever thought possible on this wonderful one day course. Caroline is an absolute delight, having such a natural ability to bring out your (in my case, latent) artistic flair. Her own work is profoundly inspiring in terms of the subject matter and skills execution. I feel totally inspired to develop my skills further.
What a magical day we had!!!
A really enjoyable day, learned some great new cutting techniques and useful tips....... Caroline is inspiring and talented. I would recommend this workshop for both beginners and more the more experienced who want new ideas and inspiration.
I've been on two of Caroline's day courses now and absolutely loved both. I'd never mosaiced before and have completed two pieces under Caroline's guidance! Caroline is a brilliant teacher, so encouraging and friendly and I can't recommend these courses enough. I can't wait to go on a third!
What an amazing day! Caroline is so welcoming, relaxed and encouraging you can't fail to feel at home. There are visual inspirations the whole house through, you can really feel that Caroline is immersed in mosaic, and her enthusiasm when she teaches is obvious. She tailored the course to meet each individuals needs from complete beginners to professionals. I have been making mosaics for years at a professional level and I still came away with some new knowledge. I loved working in a different medium to my norm and Caroline's thoroughly stocked workshop was overflowing with vibrant colours in ceramics and lots of sparkly glass bits for accents. I can't recommend this course enough, thank you Caroline!
Fabulous day. Totally enjoyable. Caroline is an excellent teacher and creates a great atmosphere in an amazing well stocked workshop. A wonderful selection of tiles, gems and yummy treasure to choose from to create your mosaic. Would highly recommend ***
What an inspiring teacher! Doesn't matter if you've never tried mosaic before Caroline guides you through - step by step- and entertains at the same time.
It's a really relaxing, rewarding day and you go home with something that you've actually created yourself. Beautiful!
(The chocolate fridge cake is also pretty good!)
What a super way to spend a Saturday. I really enjoyed learning a new craft and I came home with two mosaics which I have proudly used to decorate my shed. They look great - "Thank you so much, Caroline".
A great course, set in a sunny studio, surrounded by lots an lots of inspiration, you will find Caroline very attentive with loads of experience encouraging you and enabling you to finish your project. You will be able to laugh and learn all at the same time :).
Had a fabulous day with Caroline a few weeks ago. Came home really inspired. Although I am not new to mosaic, I learnt loads. Met some new people and had lunch in the sunshine. Don't get better than that. Plus, she continues to inspire and help me even after the course.fice
I treated my daughter and I last year to one of Caroline's workshops, she is extremely patient and welcoming.
Her studio is indeed a lovely, relaxing place to be. Caroline had all you could imagine in order to create a mosaic and was able to facilitate all the different needs and questions that the group had.
We had a thoroughly enjoyable day, and came away with some fabulous mosaics which are given pride of place in my home.
Would recommend to anyone, of any age and any ability. Great fun, great memories & learn a new skill, what more could you want!!
This one day course is memorable for so many reasons, and all of them good!
The class itself is held in a lovely, warm, sunlit studio, and the class is facilitated by Caroline who is always eager to help with advice, designs, materials, or a regular supply of tea and coffee.
There is never any pressure to get things done, but lots of support and encouragement to help you design and complete your mosaic.
I am so pleased that I applied for this course because I have learned a valuable new skill, and made such a great friend in Caroline. I would most definitely recommend her course, you will definitely be glad that you went. You won't regret it! :)
