About the Course
Design and make unique silver jewellery on this one day course at Workshop 925. The venue is based at The Mayford Centre, just outside of Woking and very close to Guildford.
What does the day involve?
Unlike other weekend classes which involve completing a specific project, this class hands the control over to you. You design and make what you choose, that may be a project with the aim to practice a certain skill, or maybe you are looking to make a special present, or create something you have always wanted to own, this class provides you with the tutor support, professional tools and a friendly, welcoming environment to make your own designs.
Our amazing new workshop is equipped with everything a silversmith could wish for. You will have your very own solid jewellers workbench to work on to complete your projects. In the workshop you will also find soldering equipment, a wide range of professional stone setting tools for various stone setting styles, a wide range of hand tools (each bench is equipped with its very own tool box), texturing tools, a rolling mill, and polishing equipment, etching equipment, dapping tools and punches, all of which will allow you the chance to create your designs within a professional setting.
This class is suitable for those with any level of experience. I will email you in advance of the class starting to ascertain what your plans are for the session, this will allow us the chance to structure the day and plan what you will need for your session.
Weekend classes are limited to a maximum of 4 students allowing for plenty of tutor attention.
What to bring:
For safety reasons, at each session closed in shoes must be worn and long hair tied back. We will provide light refreshments however you might want to bring some lunch. We have a fridge, microwave and kettle in the workshop.
Please get in touch for details and bookings.

What's included in the price?
– All tools and consumables are supplied.
– Light refreshments are provided.
The cost of this course does not include materials. A couple of weeks before the class is due to start, I will contact you via email to discuss your intended designs for the session, I will be able to suggest suitable materials for your projects and order then in time for the class. It also allows me the opportunity to prepare suitable handouts to assist each of you with your designs and prepare any demonstrations which will really help you develop your skills.
I have done a few of these courses over the past year with Kirsten and they are enormous fun!! All the courses are small (only 4 people). Everyone has their own project and works semi-independently. The small class size means Kirsten is always there to guide and advise and help with new techniques, but your work is most definitely your own.
So far I have done stacking rings, bezel set amethysts for a ring and pair of bangles and I am now learning tube settings. I will certainly be going back and would recommend to anyone.
