About the Course
Have a go at making these gorgeous hat bases, using a wonderful material called sinamay.
You will learn how to shape the material around a wooden block, how to finish it with wire and ribbon to high quality. Once you can make your own hat bases there are SO many options for the shapes you can use and for adding trimmings... you will never run out of options!
This workshop is suitable for beginners, but a little basic sewing experience would be beneficial, as there is a fair amount of hand-sewing on the day, depending on the shape you choose. If you have attended my fascinator making workshop then this will be a perfect building block to add to your skills, but it can be taken independently too.
If booking with a CraftCourses voucher for part or all of the course fee, please fill in the contact form above. Your voucher code must be provided at the point of booking.
What's included in the price?
All the materials are included on the day, plus a lovely hat box to take your finished design home with you.
Tea, coffee, cold drinks and biscuits will be provided on the day but you will need to bring your lunch with you. There is a supermarket and cafes a short walk away if you wish to go out.
There is street parking available close by.
Wow what a fantastic day! I thoroughly enjoyed it and was very pleasantly surprised how I learnt enough skills in one day to make a fascinator that I would actually wear, even through I had never tried anything like this before. It really is a lot easier than you think once you have been shown the correct way to make the different components. Great value for money and we were even given a lovely hat box to take our creation home. I would love to make something else so will definitely be attending another course in the near future.
Thanks again Rachel for a fab, fun day.
