A fabulous opportunity to try your hand at silversmithing. In this full day silversmithing you will spend the first part looking at different techniques.
Measuring for a ring, sizing, sawing, filing, soldering, shaping and forming, pickle and polishing. By the end of the workshop you will have several finished pieces of jewellery to wear & enjoy.
You will work in copper first. Next you can try hand stamping so that a message can be written or patterning can be created.
In the full day you will have enough silver to complete one of the following:
- A set of stacking rings
- A spinning ring
- A couple of bangles
- A set of earrings
- A pendant
You will float out of the tent with at least two solid silver items to take away.
If you are Speedy Gonzales and have any time left, you are more than welcome to make additional items should there be time. We simply ask for the cost of any additional silver needed.
But don't forget you will need to squeeze in slices of all our delicious freshly baked cakes as well as our homemade lunch. Teas, cold drinks and coffee from our wonderful bean to cup coffee machine are available all day, and maybe a little glass of bubbly before you leave us for the day.
Cancellation and a full refund can be obtained up to 2 weeks before the course starts. Start dates may be amended on request.

We had an absolutely brilliant day doing willow sculpture at Larkswold, Kate was an excellent teacher, We were looked after from start to finish, coffee and cake, scrummy lunch, more coffee/drinks cake in the afternoon.
I will definitely be back to do another course. 10 out of 10 from me.
Response from Larkswold:Thanks Mary, glad you enjoyed your visit. Look forward to seeing you back here soon 😊
My wife and I spent a wonderful afternoon at Larkswold learning how to make scented candles. Melinda and Emma, our hosts, could not have been more welcoming and Melinda, on discovering that the course was a 16th wedding anniversary present (the traditional gift being wax), presented us with a multi-layered candle to remind us of the day.
The course, besides being great fun, was extremely informative and we learnt a lot about the art of making scented candles ... some of which now have pride of place in our home. Our less successful efforts will be burnt in the not too distant future!!
Would we visit Larkswold again ... most certainly. They offer a number of other courses that interest us ... Glass Decorations, Lino Printing, Truffle Making, Silversmithing, Willow Sculpture, Wreath Making and Arm Knitting to name but a few.
Here's to our next visit.
Response from Larkswold:Thank you so much. It was lovely to meet you both.
