Frame Weaving: Woven Structure & Pattern

This creative weaving workshop allows participants to gain an excellent understanding of the principles of woven structure and design in hand-weaving, and covers a range of techniques to enable you to introduce some wonderful surface textures and patterns to your weaving. We will be working with an A3-size beech wood frame loom which comes with a rotating heddle bar, and we will be weaving with varying thicknesses of yarn to create different surface effects. You will learn how to weave twills, herringbone, honeycomb & extra weft figurative structures using a pick up method, learn how to follow a lifting plan, as well as learning how to create your own design. Suitable for complete beginners and also intermediate weavers who have completed the Introduction to Frame Weaving workshop and  looking to develop their expertise in woven structures. Small group of 5 people maximum, to allow for plenty of one-one, personalised tuition.
