A day spent in Sarah’s tranquil upholstery studio, is just the tonic to escape the pressures of todays fast living. To stop and learn a new skill, while having a bit of ‘me time’ is what I craved and this course delivers in spades. Sarah shares her extensive knowledge in a friendly, relaxed manner and imparts best practises and trade secrets that you won’t glean from a book. Her enthusiasm is contagious and you’ll soon find yourself browsing fabric sites and collecting chairs to practise your new skills. I highly recommend the diploma, along with the delicious lunches and encouraging cups of tea.
Sarah's upholstery tuition is first class. She is welcoming, exceptionally knowledgeable and a pleasure to work alongside. Sarah is generous with her time and skills giving her students a superb blend of practical skill, confidence in their craftsmanship and career guidance.
Sarah's well equipped workshop is the perfect learning environment. She is a fantastic host providing lovely lunches and refreshments. All going to form a wonderfully relaxed atmosphere in which to learn, not just what is described in the course outline but so much more.
I have enjoyed my diploma course with Sarah enormously and cannot recommend her highly enough.
After comparing various courses, I definitely feel that I made the right choice in choosing Sarah Wood Upholstery.
Sarah’s calm and relaxed manner helps build confidence in the craft, she is both a patient and a natural teacher who draws from her years of experience and provides teaching methods sourced from various proven scholars of upholstery. I particularly value all the tips and advice that go beyond the pages of the books.
The sessions are restricted to a maximum of 3 students, this being a huge positive compared to other course providers. The flexibility in completing the course was also hugely beneficial, particularly when balancing family commitments. Sarah has designed a course which I feel will confidently prepare me in my new chosen career path. I have already completed my first commission, which was as a direct result of a referral by Sarah.
I couldn’t recommend this course enough, the workroom is located within a lovely farm in Cambridgeshire and fab lunches are always provided.
It is a pleasure to work alongside and learn from Sarah. She is extremely knowledgable and shares her skills and experiences of upholstery generously. Sarah’s calm and friendly disposition, combined with clear explanations, make her a fantastic teacher.
The, well equipped, workshop is both practical and comfortable - an ideal space for Sarah’s personalised small group tuition.
I initially booked a five week upholstery course intending to develop a new skill however, I enjoyed my time so much that I am now persuing a diploma.
I highly recommend Sarah and her well informed tuition.
I am currently working towards the diploma in upholstery with Sarah (this is after having completed the 5 week course which I loved so much!).
Sarah is very knowledgeable and is more than happy to share her wealth of knowledge and skills with you. Her way of teaching is very practical and thoroughly enjoyable.
She has also helped me find some furniture pieces, tools, materials and given me fabric ideas.
The small student numbers also means that you get help and advice when needed throughout the day.
A wonderful lady with excellent skills and courses, I can't recommend Sarah and her courses enough.
