Book Folding Art with Alyson Horton

Book Folding takes many forms that have grown in popularity over the last few years. However, book folding was around in this country many years ago when churches made angels from old hymn books – Hymnal Angels. This beginner’s workshop is light hearted, fun and aimed to give a taster of the basic skills needed to produce this popular art. Ideal to give as a gift or a bespoke item for the home. In this class you will learn how to read a pattern, choose an appropriate book and apply the pattern to the pages and once finished you be able to decorate your piece with ribbon and buttons before taking home with you. Everything is provided for you to learn the Measure, Mark, Fold technique. A selection of books and patterns will be available for you to complete your project and if you wish to continue at home patterns are available to buy on the day. Course Highlights • Friendly, comfortable and well lit environment • Use of all tools and materials needed to complete your projects • Generous table space • Clear information and demonstrations. The course focus is always on fun and friendly creativity with lots of personal tuition from an experienced book folding artist. Why not make a full day of it and combine this class with Alyson’s afternoon half day Paper Flower Making Workshop taking place on the same day.
