Construct labyrinths including the classical seven circuit 'Cretan' and Chartres Labyrinth using compasses and straight-edge.
Develop an understanding and appreciation of labyrinth forms - ancient and modern - from around the world: how, why, and for whom are they made?
What is their significance and symbolism and why the contemporary resurgence of interest in labyrinths?
Develop your own labyrinth designs into 'block prints' for creating embossed finger labyrinths and prints.
Create a ceramic tile labyrinth.
Tutor Daniel Docherty has an MA in Sacred and Traditional Arts from The Prince's School of Traditional Arts, London where he studied with Keith Critchlow and Paul Marchant.
He co-founded SacredArtofGeometry in 2014 which offers regular short courses at Emerson College/Tablehurst Farm, Forest Row, UK,
national and international study trips, workshops and lectures. Daniel is particularly interested in how the revered quadrivium (arithmetic, geometry, music and astronomy/cosmology) inform the world’s artistic and cultural traditions.
