Beginners Millinery Course - Roses are Red - inc. materials kit

Roses are Red - kit contents felt flower headpiece option red ivory

In time to make and wear to all those long-awaited summer celebrations, I am delighted to present a beginner's flower-making millinery kit and online live class. The kit includes all the materials you will need to create a contemporary headpiece featuring a multi-petaled rose, finished with a froth of ivory veiling and attached to a pre-made buntal beret/button (included). Alternatively, the rose could also be worn as a lapel brooch.

When completing your purchase please include a note of your preferred colour choice by selecting from the following designs - Roses are Red, the English rose: red and ivory; Valleys are Green aka the Welsh dragon: red, green, and ivory; the Scottish Saltire - blue and ivory; and for my home county of Northumberland: flame and ivory. Custom colours are also available, please just get in touch for details. The maximum size of the class is 6 across all colourways/listings, when the class is full I will add another date. Whilst the kit is currently only available in the UK if you would like me to send it overseas please get in touch and I will quote you for delivery to your chosen location.

There are also lots of alternative colour options for the flower, available too, please get in touch if you would like to commission a kit in an alternative colourway.

You may be interested to know a little about the creation of the kit - in the Spring of 2021 I was commissioned by the UK Crafts Council to design and deliver a millinery masterclass to the patrons of The Saint Georges Society of New York. The SGSNY is the oldest charity in the USA and my millinery class formed part of their 250th-year anniversary celebrations. Inspired by one of the Society's symbols, the red rose of Lancashire and England, the beginner's millinery kit and online course that I created for SGSNK has been extremely popular. I have now designed headpieces with flowers in the regional colours of the UK, including the Valley Green colourway created especially for my friends at who are based in Pembrokeshire

Cancellation and a full refund can be obtained up to 2 weeks before the course starts. Start dates may be amended on request.
