About the Course
Does your machine have lots of different feet and offer many different stitches? Often the instruction book is not very helpful and after one or two attempts you never use the extra feet and stitches again! This workshop will help you move beyond the basic controls on your sewing machine; you will learn how to use the different presser feet supplied with your machine including how to make a buttonhole, and you will be able to try out the different built in stitches with your machine. In addition you will learn about the different needles and threads and the effects that can be created. There will also be the opportunity to try out your new skills by making a choice of project.
If booking with a CraftCourses voucher for part or all of the course fee, please fill in the contact form above or telephone us. Your voucher code must be provided at the point of booking.
What's included in the price?
You will need to bring your own sewing machine and some basic items of sewing equipment. You will need to bring some lunch with you but tea and coffee are provided free of charge.
This was one of the most useful courses i've ever been on. We went back to basics learning about different needles, threads and feet for our sewing machines and their different uses. We had enough time to practice what we were taught and experiment with everything the tutor brought with her. I will definitely be looking out for more courses by Pamela again.

It was 6 hours well spent. I learnt how to clean my sewing machine and all about needles and threads and when to use these for different purposes. We went on to learn how to use the different feet supplied for the machines and how to use the zip foot for piping. We learned how to do decorative effects with different stitches and twin needles as well as how to do different button holes, overedging and how to use some of our lesser used stitches. It was a really helpful course for people with a range of skills. It was a small class so we had the luxury of individual attention when we needed it. I've been to Pamela's classes before, and she never disappoints.
