Complete Beginners Learn to Sew Two-Day Workshop - Worcester
Description
Two full day workshops for complete beginners to sewing, covering all the basic workings of a machine and making 4 projects! Day one - we cover the basics of how to use your machine, from threading, winding a bobbin to tension and changing feet. We practice stitches, make a drawstring bag from a fat quarter of fabric and an envelope cushion cover with buttonhole. Day two - a quick refresh of the basics, then we are on to using a template to cut and sew a lovely canvas lined tote bag. In the afternoon we cover how to make a very useful lined and zipped make-up/ toiletries style bag. You can bring along your own machine or have the use of one of ours, all materials required are included for you, and you will get full written instructions to take home so that you have a reference point when you make more. Day 1 - 10th January 2026 10.00 - 4.30 (OR NOVEMBER 15TH). Day 2 - 21st February 2026 10.00 - 4.30. You must be available for both dates. FAQs
Most machines are suitable for this workshop, however I do not wish for you to pay for a workshop and not get anything from it.
We cover how an electric machine works and how to change and sew the different stitches, so if your machine does not have these, you will obvioulsy not get the best out of the day. Remember you can always hire a machine from me instead,.
Please do not bring your machine if:
1. It is not working
2. It is a mini sewing machine or a kids sewing machine
3. It is a complicated embroidery machine and you want help with embroidery patterns
4. You have purchased it second hand and have no idea if it works
5. The machine is over 20 years old
6. The machine is not electric

Yes, there is free parking outside the hall
Unfortunately not - there are limited spaces for all of my workshops and they get booked up quite quickly, so to avoid disappointment you will need to book beforehand
If you have a machine, then it is best to bring this along - please make sure it is in good working order
If you do not have a machine, you can hire a machine for the duration of the workshop for a minimal fee paid on the day, please let me know at the time of booking
