You will make you very own dragonfly or mouse from willow grown & harvested in Northumberland to take away with you.
Sessions run for approximately 90 minutes.
Willow weaving is a traditional skill that has evolved over centuries. Our workshops give you a chance to learn different weaving techniques and build confidence to be creative in the items you make - for garden and home. Each workshop focuses on a specific technique and helps you gain confidence and skill in working with this wonderful natural material.

We are very excited to announce that Artist Anna & the Willow will be joining us at St Hilda's Pit for a willow weaving workshop.
Anna will teach you how to make your very own obelisk for you to take home.
Learn how to make willow flowers for the garden. Students will learn how to split willow sticks and weave around them using a pairing weave to create the centre of the flower. Learn how to make your own 5 ft. plant support for the garden. Using willow uprights you will learn how to do lobster pot weave to create a strong and sturdy wigwam secured at the top with a willow-binding knot.
During this day course you will learn several weaving techniques that will enable you to make 2 birds. Starting in the morning with a small wren, you will learn how to handle the willow and create lifelike features.
