The Kett family reviewed: Fresh Christmas Door Wreath Making Workshop with Award Winning Florist

"Highly recommend. Myself and daughters attended this session and it was a fantastic experience. Excellent tuition, all materials etc., included in price . The time absolutely flew. It was amazing that we all had access to the same foliage but all 11 of us produced a completely different wreath. Wonderful atmosphere and made to feel extremely welcome, nothing was too much trouble, refreshments provided. Next year we have already planned to attend the Garland class. EXCELLENT VALUE "

Crafts in the Courtyard responded:

"We thoroughly enjoyed our wreath making session with Jess who took us through the various stages and allowed us time to do it at our own pace. Jess was always at hand to help and advise. Plenty of materials to choose from to suit all tastes. Refreshments were very tasty too. 😁 I would highly recommend this session and I have got a lovely wreath for my door made by myself. "

Aly reviewed: Five day woodwork course - tools

"Being female, and never having had the opportunity to do wood working before, I was very excited when I signed up to do this course as it was always something that I had wanted to do. I was not disappointed. Under Mark and Jay's expert supervision, not only was I cutting out mortices and tenons within two hours of starting the course, but I was also using lots of power tools including routers and band saws to produce a very professional looking table. I learnt such a lot in a very short space of time thanks to their brilliant teaching and enjoyed every minute. I am now going to make my table into a long stool which requires a bit of upholstering and so I have signed up to do this with Jay - can't wait. Thanks to Mark and Jay for such a fun week."

Kay Bowden reviewed: Take raw fleece to finished fibre 2-day spinning workshop

"What a fantastic weekend with Elaine and three fellow novice spinners in the heart of the Lake District. I found it absolutely inspiring and enjoyed every minute. Elaine is very knowledgeable and has a gentle teaching technique which has given me the skills to begin my spinning journey and hopefully enjoy this ancient craft for many years to come. I will treasure my first ball of two ply yarn and have already placed my order for a wheel so I can begin to perfect my technique. Thank you Elaine!"

Cartmel Handspun Spinning School responded:

"Thanks Kay for your so positive feed-back. It's really good to hear how much you enjoyed your weekend and your plans to carry on spinning. Best wishes Elaine"

Carol Coggan reviewed: Weekend Beginners In-depth Workshops- Bobbin Lacemaking Workshops (Effingham, Surrey).

"I attended the weekend beginners lacemaking course. Tina and Stephen had organised it beautifully, I had a map, there were clear signs to get from the car park to the workshop, so any initial fears were immediately allayed. The good organisation of the event continued. Tina had planned a comprehensive weekend, aware of clients potential levels, I was most impressed. As a complete beginner Tina took us through all aspects to get us started. Her teaching was at my pace, and I feel she had the patience of a saint, at the many questions I asked and… for help when I went wrong. There was a handbook to accompany the course, so I could take this home and consolidate my learning overnight. Stephen showed us how to spangle, whilst Tina took the others round her lace, to give us an idea of the many types of lace and what we can achieve. I loved the whole course even the cups of coffee and cake! Thank you very much for organising it, as I learnt a lot and will be putting it into practice until the next session. I would recommend this course to anyone who is a complete beginner and those accomplished. Tina shares her passion for lacemaking and enthuses you as she does it. "

Tina's Bobbin Lacemaking responded:

"Good Afternoon Carol Thank you so much for leaving such a comprehensive review. I know you had problems in managing to leave it, but most importantly thanks for not giving up. I am pleased you enjoyed the weekend so much. I am looking forward to seeing you in the New Year not only to take you on to the next steps, but also to see what you have done in between time. Let's hope we can get you onto finishing the piece your daughter started years ago, as it is a nice pattern. Merry Christmas from Stephen and Tina"

Lizzie Hopkins reviewed: Modern upholstered footstool workshop - Lewes - no experience required - the perfect gift!

"I absolutely loved this day, learning upholstery and better still, making a footsool that actually looked professional! I was convinced I'd end up with something bodged that I'd have to hide in the shed due to my own lack of skills (and lack of patience) but wow, Lucy guided, cajoled, encouraged, didn't let us off the hook until we all had made beautiful stools. Lovely lunch, lovely people, great venue - do it!"

Roundedby responded:

"Ha ha! Absolutely not - Rounded by workshops are a bodge free zone, there's a reason I tutor something without corners!! I loved your Porcelain fabric choice, and the result was magnificent - thanks for helping make the day SUCH fun - now go put your feet up! Lucy "

Jill Johnson reviewed: Mini Workshop- Wreath Making 1.30-3.00

"I love attending this course -the staff are brilliant and very knowledgeable and helpful My only comment is the booking process.I emailed for information regarding the date etc and didn’t receive a response so had to keep checking for information and only managed to get 2 places when I originally wanted 4 Apart from that it is a fab event Thank you "

Workshops in the Woods responded:

"Hi Gill thanks for your constructive criticism regarding booking -we advertise it in the centre and we don’t do an awful lot of promotion because there are so few places available. I’m afraid you just have to keep your eye out and get in there when it’s released -for next year start looking at the beginning of October. I didn’t see any conversation from you through craft courses and I do respond as swiftly as I can so apologies if we missed it . kind regards Rachel"
