Nina C reviewed: Pottery throwing sessions on the potter's wheel in Norfolk

"I throughly enjoyed this experience. The workshop was a lovely space to work in accompanied by a warm fire which really added to it! Pat is an amazing craftsman, very knowledgeable and helped me with my pottery when needed. Friendly approach and was very pleasant to be taught by her. The experience itself was so fun and therapeutic. Something I had never done before - well worth doing! I got to take home 2 pots I made with the option of paying just a small fee for any others I wanted....I bought the rest! Highly recommend this experience with Pat Southwood to anyone wanting to do pottery throwing, great for beginners too! "

Pat Southwood responded:

"Thanks Nina, so pleased that you enjoyed yourself, I will let you know as soon as your pots can be collected. Pat. "

Sue reviewed: Sea Glass Picture Workshop

"I bought this course for my sister in law for xmas. She doesn't need 'things' and loves anything to do with crafts. She says Rebecca was very welcoming, knowledgable on materials used and most importantly took things at the groups pace. Rebecca was always positive and made great suggestions. Overall she had a very relaxing and enjoyable morning. I saw the resulting sea glass picture and would have it hanging in my home any day. "

Carole Berryman reviewed: Woodwork Beginners workshop

"I had a lovely day in a beautiful place with delicious food & good company, & I learned a lot. Woodwork is totally out of my comfort zone, & I'm very ham-fisted, but Sue was really patient & encouraging, & a good teacher. I'm very proud of my set of shelves, & am encouraged to go onto greater things - maybe a planter or bird table next?"

Tuffett responded:

"Thanks very much for your review. You did so well with your shelves. Send a photo of them in your shepherds hut. Look forward to seeing you again for another project. Best wishes, Sue"

Patsy morgan reviewed: Embroidery for beginners

"What a delight rosemary is. We had great fun, laughs and the day flew by. Being a complete novice I set rosemary a challenge. By the end of the day threading a needle became second nature and I even managed to do 3 French knot stitches! The session was well structured, demonstrations clear to follow and despite endless mishaps the outcome was surprisingly passable. If you are looking for a fun day with lots of chat, no pressure, and wanting to learn a new skill I 100% recommend this course. Thank you rosemary. Patsy"

This is not something I have ever done before, but thoroughly enjoyed the time spent learning what to do and how to use the different tools, and then making my own little gift to take home with me, which has pride of place on my Welsh dresser, along with the test piece used to learn how to work with the tools."

Alfie reviewed: Whittling Beginner Workshop

"I had a wonderful day on this course. Jacqui and Pete are both true experts and the small group size meant we all got lots of individual, hand’s on attention to improve our techniques. Perfect for complete beginners or experienced whittlers. It was a welcoming, relaxed environment and we all got fully absorbed in the work, the day flew by. We covered lots of new cutting methods I hadn’t seen before and had an introduction to spoon carving using curved blades. We also covered knife sharpening. Jacqui and Pete gave us lots of information to take away for future projects; recommended knives, books for ideas and more. "

Ann Kennedy reviewed: Hare Sculpture workshop with Jo Garden Art in beautiful Norfolk/Suffolk

"Such an incredible day sculpting a hare. Jo’s hospitality and welcome to her lovely home and studio was second to none and seven beautiful, yet totally unique, hares left the studio thanks to Jo’s expert instruction. I will definitely be back to make a friend for Huck, my hare, and also to take on a larger project at a two day workshop when dates become available. Thoroughly recommend. "

Jo Garden Art responded:

"Thank you Ann! 'Huck' was fabulous and I'm sure would appreciate a playmate 🤗. The range of shapes and poses of the hares at the end of a workshop always makes me smile. The same armature and instruction is then made unique by each delegates individual approach. Fabulous! Jo xx"
