Surabhi reviewed: Blacksmithing Experience in Grassington (3 hours)

"I booked this mainly for my boyfriend to make a knife and we loved it. I was genuinely terrible at blacksmithing (couldn’t hit it hard enough, melted the entire thing multiple times) and Richard was so helpful in making sure I left with a knife LOL. Really fun day out and a great gift!"

Barbara reviewed: Round Shopper Willow Basket

"A great course for all standards. I had never done basket weaving before but Suz was friendly, encouraging and happy to explain as many times as needed. The class size was perfect (6) everyone was friendly and helpful. I would recommend this course to anyone. Make a great day out with friends or if you are flying solo. I was surprisingly pleased with the basket I made. I will definitely be doing this again. Location was easy to find and plenty of parking. I did find the room a little dark. "

The Coppice Co. responded:

"Hi Barbara! Thank you for your lovely review and the feedback about the room. You're right the room is a bit enclosed. These indoor courses only happen during the winter then we're back in the beautiful woodland for the rest of the year!"

Penny Walmsley reviewed: Introduction to Green Wood Furniture Making - 2 Day Course in South Devon

"I was on this course with Helen and Ron and agree wholeheartedly with everything they have said. I was worried about using the shave horse and the draw knife but after a demonstration and a bit of practice, absolutely loved it. Each of the woodworking tools took a bit of getting used to, but once you got the hang of it, it was easy. I made a sturdy footstool out of Chestnut, which I believe will last for many years outside, under my veranda. I did this course as I wanted to see if I would be able to do the longer 6 day Creative Seating course. Now I feel confident to try. Looking forward to coming back in April."

Peter Lanyon Furniture responded:

"Thanks Penny, I look forward to seeing you in April! "

Cormac reviewed: Mig Welding For Beginners Introductory Day Course.

"A fantastic day with Tony! He provided a very well structured course with a well tailored learning curve. All risk felt well mitigated creating a lovely learning environment and he clearly has a wealth of experience and knowledge that is imparted effortlessly. The one on one method is excellent and well worth it, meaning every single move I made was able to be assessed and constructively criticised to progress quickly. I feel very confident after this course in both method and setup. I am now very keen to develop my welding further. Well recommended!"

Jansen reviewed: Knife making weekend Gloucestershire

"Did this course with my Sons (aged 16 and 21) in Feb 2024, and it kept each of us busy/engaged for the whole weekend. Arian is an excellent teacher of this craft, and carefully guides complete beginners through to making a knife with leather pouch. We were all blown away by the end results and now appreciate the never ending filing, sanding and sharpening :-) You also come away learning how to sharpen knives. We are now cherishing our knives, oiling the handles and keeping the blades sharp."

"We did the workshop with Max and had a great day. He's very knowledgeable, friendly and super helpful.
