Sharon Thomas reviewed: weave a shopping basket

"I have long wanted to try willow weaving and I picked Wyldwood Willow as I was able to make something a little different - an asymmetric basket with a driftwood handle. Amanda is a great teacher - patient and encouraging and providing support when needed. Everyone on the course was really impressed that we made a basket in just one day and we could all see how we were improving over the course of a few hours. Thanks so much Amanda - I love my basket and will definitely consider coming back for a second go. "

Cristiana reviewed: Two leather long stitch journals in a day

"This is definitely a 5 star experience. I highly recommend it. I enjoyed the course to the full even though I was a complete beginner; I went home with two books I had made and they look really good. Lynne is a confident and passionate teacher. She had lots of colours of leather I could choose from and different types of decorations to finish the book binding. I ended up making my own style and chose to combine fabric, elastic and button. Thank you Lynne, what a great day !! "

SB reviewed: Bezel Set Seaglass Pendants one day workshop

"Lovely tutor and enjoyable course with a finished product to take home 😊 As it was a seaglass course some people brought their own seaglass pieces but were not able to use them due to being the wrong shape or too big for the silver available .. Would be good to know in advance if there are any recommended shapes /qualities needed for personal glass pieces to be suitable to use on the day. Not a complaint, just constructive feedback as I’m a novice so any guidance is helpful 😊spare glass pieces were available on the day too so that was good! Tutor was patient and helpful and very knowledgeable 😊thanks for a lovely experience "

Nottingham Jewellery School responded:

"Thanks for your lovely review, it was a pleasure to meet you and you made a superb piece of jewellery - well done!! Next time we list the class I will add measurements to the course listing images to make it clearer what the sizes of those pieces are. We do welcome people to bring their own sea glass but as every piece is unique we can't guarantee it's all suitable for the process and this is stated in the listing. We would love to see you in the workshop again soon, you made a really brilliant start with your jewellery making. "

Hilary reviewed: Full day introduction to glass fusing course.

"I attended the full day glass fusing workshop (Pink House Glass) and loved every minute, literally from the moment I walked in and was welcomed by a warm and friendly Amanda, up to the moment I reluctantly had to leave, 7 hours later! Amanda is a patient and inspirational teacher, full of enthusiasm for her craft, I had an amazing day chatting, laughing, learning and creating, a real therapy. I can't wait to pick up my creations in a couple of days time. The course really is a bargain for the price when you consider that you get to make two lovely good size pieces of glassware to take away, along with the hours of tuition and guidance that you get and not forgetting the lunch of course which was as great as everyone says it is. Thank you Amanda for an unforgettable and joyful experience and of course thanks to Russ who bought this workshop as a gift for me."

Pink House Glass responded:

"Thank you so much for your lovely review Hilary! I had such a wonderful day with you here in the studio, it makes me realise how fortunate I am to do what I do and just why I love teaching so much :) I can't wait to show you the beautiful pieces you've made. Amanda x"

Mireille Truong reviewed: Premium experience package dry stone walling for beginners

"A very inspiring course in which a team of beginners rebuilds from its foundations a section of wall fallen into disrepair. Carl explains clearly the principles of the wall's longevity, strength and beauty. Theory is always backed up by practice. Attention is paid to safety in handling heavy stones and great tips provided to move them. The days have pauses and Sharon provides tasty and healthy sustenance and friendliness and magic to the environment. Highly recommended! Lots of fun!"
