Sam stox reviewed: Pick & Mix Glass Fusing Taster Sessions (Open Group)

"I had such a lovely morning doing this course, Dawn was really clear and concise in her instructions and her collection of glass for decorating purposes was really well stocked. She was patient and helpful all day and made a decent cuppa to boot! I'll definitely be returning in the new year"

Dawn Turner Designs responded:

"Hi Sam - thank you for your lovely review, and glad the cuppa was okay (my son would heartily disagree!) - most of the work is now fired and cooling, just whichever pieces need slumping, I will be in touch as soon as I have sorted them all out - can't wait to open the kiln!"

Luke A reviewed: Beginners half-day 1-2-1 woodturning workshop for 1 person

"I did the beginners half-day 1-2-1 woodturning workshop with Simon and absolutely loved it. The whole experience was brilliant from start to finish. His garden workshop is spotless, well equipped, and so well organised (I’m seriously jealous of his setup). Simon’s a great teacher. He explains everything clearly and makes you feel at ease straight away. I made a honey dibber and couldn’t be happier with how it turned out. He even took photos throughout the session, which was a nice touch and meant I had something to show off later. Small details like that make a big difference. I also appreciated that he remembered I was gluten free and had biscuits ready for tea. It’s those thoughtful touches that make the day stand out. Highly recommend it to anyone thinking of giving woodturning a go."

"This was one of the best workshops I've ever attended. I was completely new to leathework, and Bill patiently guided me through all the stages of the craft. Julia G reviewed: Blacksmithing Experience Day - Introduction

"This was an incredible experience! Giles is incredibly knowledgeable, talented, and friendly. We were able to learn techniques in forge management, heating, hammering, twisting, scroll work, and more. Leaving the course I felt equipped to recreate these projects if I ever found myself in a forge again. It was great to see how over the course of the day me and my classmates skills dramatically improved, and in the final hours our work was significantly more individual and confident. Looking at the objects I came home with, I can hardly believe I made them with my own hands. Highly recommend!!"

"We had a fabulous day learning this new craft. A relaxed, methodical anything is possible day. Elaine explained each step, helped when needed and encouraged all the way. Lots of ideas too choice from and at the end, you go home with a beautiful piece of art made by your fair hands. I nearly forgot to mention tea/coffee and biscuits all day. A must workshop."

Amy Winterbourne reviewed: 5 Day Upholstery Workshop - Monday to Friday (3 places still avail for Jan 26)

"Having done one of Sarah’s day courses I was excited to see this course arise, for a more concentrated period of 5-days to really work and progress on my item of furniture. The week was a blast - we laughed, we learned so much, I completed two projects in the end and couldn’t be prouder with the result. The small number of students means Sarah is really able to give you quality tuition and share her amazing wealth of knowledge. She has an excellent way of explaining the many complexities of the upholstery process. Absolutely recommend this course - I hope to join another one in future! "

Amy Winterbourne reviewed: Saturday Workshop - Bring Your Own Upholstery Project

"Booked a Saturday day course for my mum and sister-in-law as we are all into crafts, fabrics, colours etc. and love to ‘create’. We had the most brilliant day with Sarah - we each had a different piece to work on so we could see and learn different techniques. We came home completely overjoyed at the progress! Sarah is an excellent, patient and kind teacher - she helps you excel even if you’ve not picked up a mallet or needle before! 100% recommend this day course. And to underscore my review - as a result of this day, I signed up to her full course and have now completed two projects! "

Esther Dowle reviewed: Make Your Own Silver Ring Jewellery Beginners Class

"My sisters and I bought this as a present for our Mum, and it was absolutely perfect! The studio is set in a stunning locating, with lots of other local craft stores/workshops to peruse as well as a cafe. The workshop itself was hugely enjoyable, Sarah walked us through everything and we had so much fun picking out designs for the rings and cutting them to size. We all came away with a beautiful and memorable piece of jewellery, I would absolutely recommend this to anyone. Keen to come back and try out sea glass jewellery making now! Well worth the money and Sarah was a wonderful instructor. Fresh scones were another added bonus!"

Sam reviewed: Silver pendant making with Silv-r Designs

"This course was excellent. Ali was a fantastic instructor, very knowledgable and has a great way of explaining the steps you need to take. Incredible experience, all of the stars/5."
