Minal reviewed: Glass jewellery course

"Excellent course, learnt so much in one day. Louise was brilliant, she spent a lot of time with us showing us different ways of cutting glass, mounting and designing our very own pendants and earrings. We used a range of beautiful glass and materials to create our pieces. Dichroic was my absolute favourite, the colours were absolutely stunning. I booked this course as a surprise for my sister's birthday, she loved it. Thank you Louise."

Erika Miko reviewed: Making a stained glass art hanging

"Arrived at Caryl's workshop with no experience of stained glass, and came away with a wonderful piece of glass art. Thanks to Caryl's patience and knowledge of what she is doing, she gave me the confidence to achieve things which i couldn't imagine. All in all a great day, with plenty of one on one time, which was what i needed. Also the lunch was a real bonus, and my partner enjoyed the cake too. Many thanks to Caryl 5* Best wishes Erika Miko"

Bob Lowe reviewed: Blacksmithing for Beginners - Full Day Forging for One

"A truly great experience from start to finish, Chris is very patient and knowledgeable and has a passion for his art. It is crazy how you can manipulate a pice of steel from a straight bar into a finished piece. I would highly recommend a day in Chris's forge."

Georgina reviewed: Pottery making party in lovely seaside studio

"I had so much fun doing this pottery class, Jenny was really nice and gave the group lots of advise and ideas on what to make. There was plenty of time to either create one thing and focus solely on that, or create lots of little things. We also had a go on the pottery wheel which is really fun and relaxing. Definitely recommend, the last time I made something out of clay I was at school, so you can definitely go to this class with no or next to no knowledge. The town was really nice, we were really fortunate with the weather so we went to the local pub which was right opposite the sea and sat in the garden."

Cheryl Kindness reviewed: Making a stained glass leaded panel

Andy Moreman reviewed: One to one, One day, blacksmith course

"I had a thoroughly enjoyable day at the Forge and was impressed by how many different techniques and concepts I was able to get a taste of in just one day. Alex is a skilled teacher who gets the balance of showing you the ropes and allowing you to get on and work for yourself just right. His experience and creativity were evident: having arrived without really knowing what was possible or what best to make in a day, Alex led me through a design and making process and I went home with a coat rack, which I am suitably proud of. A really positive experience and one I'd happily recommend to anyone."

Dorothy Allister reviewed: Stained Glass Nuno Felted Scarves Online Class

"Thank you Lena for a wonderful day. I've worked a lot with fabrics and fibres but learned a lot more from you. I would love to do more experimental work to create beautiful fabrics. Any chance of 'abstract' workshops? I also want to learn to create flowers - and printing with leaves. More dates, please! More apple cake, too!"

Martin Grasby reviewed: Stonecarving Weekend, Gloucestershire Cotswolds

"Returned for another 2 days exploring my 'hidden talent.' Told in my school art class I had no artistic ability. Taken many years & finding this course to discover it is not true. Sebastian is encouraging to all to find what's waiting to be revealed in their stone. On all the courses I've attended with him, no one has left without creating something they're rightly very pleased with. Always great group of people too."

Claire reviewed: Two day stone carving course at Chillington Hall

"I have been going to Miranda's stone carving classes for 2 years. She is an excellent teacher and has encouraged me to progress from complete beginner to more advanced pieces. The classes are really enjoyable and very friendly. Miranda provides guidance as needed and helps each person at their own pace. Working outdoors is great and there is indoor studio space if needed. I would strongly recommend this class to anyone wanting to try a new creative hobby."

Helen Anglum reviewed: Patchwork and Quilting - Non-Residential 2-day Workshops at The Ropewalk, Barton upon Humber

"Sheena is a very experienced and knowledgeable tutor and has a caring approach to her students. She works hard to ensure that all participants are supported and are achieving their goals. I thoroughly enjoyed the course and I was pleased to have achieved the first stage of my quilt. As with all courses the tutor has to address the differentials between all participants. Sheena coped with this very well, however, I think it would be helpful if we could have some handouts including pictures to demonstrate each stage of the process, as I have only completed the first stage whilst some of the more experienced participants achieved more at the end of the course. I watched with interest those that were in front but I was so keen to complete my quilt I missed some of the next and subsequent stages. My quilt is coming along really well but I think I will struggle to finish it without some clearly written instructions and having invested both time and money into this it will be great to see the finished article. I look forward to working with Sheena in September."

Sally reviewed: One day silver jewellery making in Worcestershire.

"I enjoyed a day on The Jewellery Boat making two different types of rings. I hadn't make any jewellery like this before but found the teaching to be excellent as Jonathan took us through the various techniques in a calm, pleasant, and easy to understand way. I came away not only with my two rings which I made under Jonathan's watchful eye but also with a practical knowledge of working with wire (copper and silver), shaping, filing, sawing, soldering, polishing - and lots more. Great cake and lots of refreshments made the day on the Narrowboat a lovely experience - thank you Jonathan!"

YASMEEN HASNAIN reviewed: Geometry of Morocco and Al-Andalus

"Immersing oneself in the rich artistic tradition of Islamic geometry was so good for one's being and soul.Daniel is an excellent teacher - very knowledgeable, patient and encouraging. Different patterns of varying complexity kept me completely involved. The environment of Emerson college was very conducive to learning and reflection. The Art room of SAOG is serene and a sanctuary. One seems to be in the studio of Abul-Wafa al Buzjani ( 10th century Persian mathematician and astronomer in Baghdad)- working with compass and ruler, understanding the interplay of mathematics and art. I do hope to enrol on further courses that Daniel and Kira are planning for the future. Thankyou and shukran."
