The workshop environment is beautiful and we were in a small group of 4 so were given a lot of attention and learnt a lot throughout the day. Thank you for a very memorable day, it surpassed my expectations in every way. "

Doro Maginnis reviewed: The First Cut - lino cutting for beginners & rusty printmakers in Derbyshire

"This is a fabulous course for any lino printing novice. You will be well taught to learn the necessary skills and be given great tips to achieve great results! Liz is clearly a very experienced teacher who can tap in to each learner's needs and guide them to produce very satisfying work. Her lovely studio and hospitality make the day very special. Liz goes above and beyond to share her knowledge and recommendations about the process and materials respectively. Her course will leave you confident to purchase resources should you want to pursue lino printing beyond the day. Highly recommended! "

Liz Wellby - Artist, Teacher & Maker responded:

"Hi Doro, Thank you so much for your very kind words - I’m slightly overwhelmed! It was a very lovely day working with everyone. You were all so enthusiastic and keen to learn and it makes such a great teaching and learning experience. I hope you’ll have time to continue working with your lino block, as you’ll learn so much developing it into a 2, or even a 3 colour print; combine this with collage and exploring colour and you’ll be busy until Spring! Very best wishes Liz Wellby "

Rik Horton reviewed: Axe / Hammer Forging Day

"After being subjected to me watching many episodes of Forged in Fire, my girlfriend purchased a days course in beginners knife making for my Christmas present. Which turned out to be one of the best presents ever. The 7-8 hour course seemed like 7-8 minutes, Alex was an excellent teacher, friendly, intelligent, informative and somehow aware of what all 5 of the students were doing simultaneously. He kept us safe, helped when needed, was encouraging and had a huge repertoire of corny jokes. The day left me happy, and wanting to do more, the axe making course is already on my birthday present list. "

Natalie and Liz reviewed: Pottery wheel throwing & glass fusing 1-day course

"We had a lovely day with Sarah and Chris. I booked it as a birthday present for my mum as she is interested in craft making and I thought this would be something she would enjoy. We made glass pendants and wall hangings in the morning with Sarah and then did pottery, throwing 3 pots each with Chris in the afternoon. It was great fun and we learnt a lot. We had never done either before and we managed to produce items that looked what they were supposed to so always a bonus! I would definitely recommend."

Karen Smith reviewed: Pottery throwing sessions on the potter's wheel in Norfolk

"Booked this for my daughter and I as her birthday treat - and it really was a treat for both of us! Pat is knowledgeable, patient and personable and under her expert guidance we both managed to produce pots! It required concentration and more effort ( but manageable!) than we had expected. The icing on the cake for me was discovering that we had both lived in the same place, travelled on the same bus to the same grammar school! We had a nice afternoon chatting and exploring memory lane! "

Pat Southwood responded:

"Thanks Karen, it was lovely to have you both in the studio, you both worked very hard and it was great to have a catch up from rather longer ago than I care to mention! :-) Pat. "
