Ann Marshall reviewed: Stained Glass Nuno Felted Scarves Online Class

"Attended the wet-felting workshop. Premises are easy to find. Lena is a very accomplished teacher, is kind and patient. Although I had done wet-felting before it was a few years ago and I had more-or-less forgotten most of the process. Came away with a lovely wall-hanging. Small groups of students, first class workshop facilities. Lovely cake and coffee too. Would not hesitate to recommend any of Lena's workshops. Am already booked on another two!"

"Our teetering contributions are testament to dry stone walling being nothing like as easy as it looks! Lucky Cross Bones to have John bring the wisdom of the ages to bear on proceedings and help salvage something of our reputations. An antidote to the ills of the modern world ... you must attend."

"John and his seemingly limitless knowledge and enthusiasm for dry stone walling made for a really educational, fun and fulfilling day. You'll start noticing the wonder of dry stone walls everywhere and appreciating the craft and love with which they're built. It was wonderful to work with the stones and nature. I can't rate John's course highly enough."

Scott M reviewed: A Practical Dry Stone Walling Workshop Central London

"I had a fun day with my Partner learning a new skill with a lovely group of people and a great tutor. I certainly never thought I'd be learning such a skill in central London. I recently returned to see the wall which now holds a planted flower bed and looks fantastic (and is still standing). I'd recommend this one day course to anyone looking to try their hand at something different and also it is a great idea for a team building exercise."

Keith Holton reviewed: Wood turning courses in the Midlands

"I recently spent a day with Mark, the result of a Christmas present from my wife. I had some experience of wood turning but felt I needed guidance. Mark's course was perfect. He is an excellent tutor, very thorough, and happy to repeat himself as many times as necessary. He also has a great sense of humour which helps when he has a 'ham-fisted' student. I came away with copious extremely helpful notes and the knowledge that I could call him whenever I had a query. The day was great fun and worth every penny. Thanks again Mark. "An absolutely brilliant course for someone like me - a complete novice. Mark is patient and thorough in his approach to teaching so I came away not only with a wealth of technical knowledge but with the confidence to start having a go myself. Excellent workshop facilities and plenty of tea and sympathy - what else do you want? I would not hesitate to recommend Marks courses and I will certainly be back."

Marian Hills reviewed: Mosaic one day workshop for adults with Caroline Jariwala, Birmingham

"If you live in Bearwood then top of the list of things to do is to do a mosaic course with Caroline; if you don't it is definitely worth a journey. A chance to learn a fascinating craft with an excellent teacher plus an opportunity to get to know and enjoy the company of a small group of people. Of course I spent too much time laughing and talking so didn't finish, but Caroline just found time for me to come and finish off."

Lee O'Donnell reviewed: Blacksmithing, bladesmithing and metal craft

"I was given two days with Nigel for my Christmas present this year, and have just ( yesterday) come back. I have had a truly amazing time. I have done a few craft type courses ( glassmaking, Neon making etc) but always wanted to have a go at 'metal bashing'. I can honestly say, my wife could not have found a better place for me to go. No long winded lectures, no standing around just watching. After a brief but imformative safety chat, you are thrown straight in. If you really like a hands on course then this is for you. Nigel demonstrates and you then go off to your own forge and replicate what he has shown you. Don't panic, you are not abandoned, help and advice is ALWAYS there if you need it, all you need do is ask. You learn so many techniques, tips, history, it's just so brilliant. It's a very informal atmosphere, Nigel will wander round, regaling you with stories of his experience, funny tales and loads of info about blacksmithing. You really do have a laugh as well as learn so much. You will not be run to a strict time table, the day may run over a little, Nigel is really good and wants to make sure you come home with as many pieces as possible. I did 2 days and came home with 8 pieces of work, and I was so pleased. If you are reading this, STOP, what are you doing. Get you day with Nigel booked rather than sitting reading this, you will love it!! I WILL be going back as soon as I can. IT IS AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

Amanda Roberts reviewed: 3 Day beginners Fused Glass crash course - Silver Zebra studio Cheshire - Est 2004 by one of the UKs leading glass artists

"Superb course, 3days of glass and great food, Deborah is very knowledgable with years of making glass art as it runs in the family. We started making simple coasters (square pieces) just to get used to glass cutting, then moved on to one medium size glass art piece using glass frit, next we made 3 squares of glass concentrating on surface design and texture, the last day we made our final 3panel piece. It was a great 3days and more than I expected, very pleased to now have glass art on my wall and to say I made that!"

"I bought a course for my boyfriend's birthday present - he told me it's the best present he's ever been given! He told me he really enjoyed spending the day with Nigel, messing about with hot metal, learning, chatting, and coming home with treasures to show for his labours. He told me about your awesome shepherd's huts, and we'd like to come and stay sometime soon. Thanks a lot :-)"

"If you want to learn how to build a drystone wall then Johns your man! What a brilliant day. Relaxing yet requires some thinking on how to fit the beautiful stone together. I'm sure you won't find this elsewhere in London. A totally unique experience which you actually leant something you can use in your own garden to make fab, eco friendly, stone walls that will last fur years."

Ian Jones reviewed: Wood turning courses in the Midlands

"I have just been the lucky recipient of a days one to one personal tuition with Mark. From the moment I arrived at the workshop Mark made me welcome, and at ease. I arrived on a bitterly cold January mornig but Mark was already insitu and had a nice wood burning stove going to take the chill from my bones. The information Mark gives is done is a friendly, and easy manner, and as a total beginner, the information you get is immense! Mark teaches by getting you hands on! and you actually make things! You will get all the advice you want, and will not leave until you have covered everything, Sorry for the "overtime" Mark! I left a very delighted potential woodturner Thanks Mark!"

"I've worked with John Holt enhancing our beautiful memorial garden at Crossbones. He taught his artform to people from all backgrounds, including lots of successful training days with community groups and corporate groups. They all gave glowing feedback. The stone really works in harmony with the beautiful timber benches constructed by artist Arthur DeMowbray. The walls also have great ecological value - I'd love to see more of these built, providing much needed habitats as well as beauty in urban areas. Train as many people as you can John!"

Helen John reviewed: A Practical Dry Stone Walling Workshop Central London

"I attended one of John's drystone walling course in London and it was fantastic. John gave a really interesting explanation about the art of drystone walling, its history and reasons to preserve this heritage craft. We then learnt how to work with the various tools. By the end of the day I really felt as though I'd achieved something. And all in the heart of London - no need to make a long journey!"
