Sophie reviewed: Lampwork Glass Bead Making Workshop, Stourbridge

"I thoroughly enjoyed the half day workshop with Sarah. As a complete beginner I was really apprehensive to start with. Sarah is a very good teacher and within no time I felt at ease and was able to make some beautiful beads. I'm very happy with the finished product and will be definitely returning to create some more!! Highly recommended!"

"Absolutely fantastic course, enjoyable company plus positive and enthusiastic instruction. The setting was beautiful, with plenty to do for those not painting as well. Subject matter for painting was varied from still life such as flowers in terracotta pots, village life and quaint buildings, to stunning vistas of sun, sea and mountains. Thank you to Vicki and Beth for a well organised, relaxing and fun holiday."

Linda Fernley reviewed: 1-to-1 Mount cutting and effective presentation for painters and photographers

"I joined this workshop in Farnham on Saturday without the slightest clue about how to mount a picture or photograph. By the end of the day I was a 'professional'! Lynne is a superb tutor; she demonstrates and explains very clearly and, with such a small class of just six, is able to constantly give advice and tips as we each created our own 'masterpieces'. I'm so pleased to have learnt this skill and would absolutely recommend this course."

Andy Stevens reviewed: A Dry Stone Walling Workshop Bedfordshire

"I had a great day, great company, great instruction . John was excellent and very informative. Gave everyone in the group equal time and answered every question asked. I feel that, with the instruction given, I could quite confidently build my own wall. I would recommend this course to anyone that wants to spend a day in the fresh air, away from computers and phones and learn something new. Thanks."

Alice reviewed: Plaster mould making for slip cast ceramics with Ed Bentley

"I am a furniture maker, and wanted to create a mould for a new product. Ed was very open and listened to what I needed to create. A patient, gentle natured person very knowledgable in the mould making world. He also understands the production of the piece afterwards, so takes you through the whole process and creates a mould for your needs. I would highly recommend him for any mould making needs. An incredible view onto the old Spode factory, a perfect setting. I didn't get to eat one, but would recommend trying an oat cake if in Stoke on Trent, Ed knows a good place."

Mike Carr reviewed: Cider making - one day workshop

"Definitely aimed at absolute beginners. Most of the day is spent processing the apples to produce the juice from which cider can be made. This is followed by a relatively short discussion about what happens subsequently to convert the juice into cider."

Jen reviewed: A fabulous introduction to fused glass - one day course

"Not being very creative and having little idea about fused glass, I thoroughly enjoyed this day. Under Siobhan's expert guidance I managed to create a number of pieces without even cutting myself! The day was great fun, lunch brilliant and Siobhan and Dan great hosts. Would totally recommend and would love to repeat."

Chris reviewed: Learn to carve wooden spoons, beginners and improvers

"Fantastic day!! Dave is excellent at teaching how to carve spoons, the setting was brilliant, such a cosy yurt with log burner set in an orchard setting, I went in the colder months and the stove kept us toasty warm! I was on the day long course with about 4 other people, there was plenty of demonstration time and then lots of 1-2-1 help from Dave as you progressed through the day. There were tea breaks and lunch breaks (take a packed lunch) and we all left with carved spoons that we had created from a log! In my opinion this is one of the best courses for spoon carving and at an incredibly reasonable price!"

Edna reviewed: Make a silver ring or bangle

"Who would have thought that 50 years after being taught geometry at school I would find a use for it. Today with Lucy I learned that making fine jewellery is a lot more complex than just learning the practical skills such as filing and soldering. Once again my ability has been stretched and I loved every minute although I told Lucy it was torture. Gently Lucy has again allowed me to evaluate my project and it has changed again. No longer including enamelling but I believe it will look all the more fantastic"
