Come and learn the craft of wooden spoon carving. The course is a day spent with me learning to carve a beautiful and functional wooden spoon. We’ll go through everything you need to know to transform a green wood log into a spoon. Techniques learned include: Wood selection Axing out a spoon blank Safe and efficient knife grips Hollowing the bowl Finishing oils Tool buying advice Best of all, you’ll come away with all this knowledge and a spoon of your very own. ** A simple vegetarian lunch is provided ** Participants on this course are welcome to attend our monthly spoon club on the following day - We will lend you a set of carving tools and provide wood for you to practice your carving in a relaxed social setting.
