Rose Harding reviewed: Stained glass introduction at Blue Kite Stained Glass

"I had an excellent day with Iain. It was a gift from my husband for a special birthday. I have always been interested in glass and Iain was very informative so I learnt a lot. Many things that I had not thought about before. I will now look at a pieces of stained glass with new eyes, not only recognising their beauty but also really appreciating the amount of work that goes into them. Iain is a great tutor and very patient. I would highly recommend this course."

Luke Smith reviewed: Knife Making and Bladesmith Classes: Hand-Forged Viking Knife

"Had my one day knife making course yesterday (17/2/18) and had an amazing day. John Steve and Ollie were great and were so knowledgeable and happy to help. I have never done anything like this before and was happy to leave with a fire poker and my own man blade. Paced at a really good level and never felt rushed or things not going quick enough. I drove 2 hours from the midlands to do this course and would happily go again tomorrow! Great course would highly recommend"

Jo Bulmer reviewed: 2 Day Silver Jewellery Making Course - Ely

"I have wanted to have a go at Silversmithing for years and so glad that i finally did it. I had a fantastic 2 days which covered a lot. We got to try out lots of different tools and were given a handout with lots of information on what to buy to get started. I made a pendant some earrings and a spinner ring over the weekend. It gave me the confidence to invest in some tools and I look forward to doing further courses with Jonathan."

Susie Conjbeer reviewed: Fused Glass Workshops in Tavistock Devon

"Had a really enjoyable creative day but it went far too quickly which is what happens when you're enjoying yourself. This course is good for absolute beginners and for those who want to try out new techniques. Wendy provided a lovely calm atmosephere and helped us when required but gave us the confidence to try everything ourselves. The materials provided gave us the chance to be creative in our designs. Thank you Wendy for an enjoyable and productive day. Can't wait to see how my 'masterpeice' turns out. Susie x"

Paula Sutton reviewed: Create a mosaic in a day in Yorkshire with professional mosaic artist Sue Kershaw

"I received a gift voucher for this course as a Christmas present. It has definitely been the best experience I’ve had from a craft class and a much appreciated gift. It started with a warm welcome and a hot drink, Sue puts you at ease and though her mosaics are outstanding she remains a humble lady. Everything is provided and nothing is too much trouble, she is a natural and patient teacher. I’m not a natural crafter! I enjoy it rather than having natural ability but that didn’t matter as I still managed to produce a mosaic I am proud of. The 6 hours flew by and I hope Sue will provide other courses in the future as I would love to learn more."

Adrian C reviewed: Learn to Turn in the Dartmoor National Park

"The course was a Christmas gift from my parents and in-laws and I thoroughly enjoyed every minute. Chris is so careful to explain the whole process from basics to the more skilled steps and is great company throughout the day. The bowl I produced far exceeded my expectations of what I thought I was capable of and the whole day was a wonderful experience. Highly recommended"

"A truly memorable day aboard the silver jewellery boat. Jonathan is an excellent teacher and is flexible with the learning. I needed to perfect my soldering skills and we did that and more. The boat is an extra bonus and in a beautiful setting. Would thoroughly recommend the craft course as a gift and a participant...and there is cake."

Rachel reviewed: Making a stained glass art hanging

"Just finished a fabulous day of stained glass making. Such a great teacher and course, Caryl showed us the techniques to create our own individual pieces (I'm really proud of mine!) The class size was small, which enabled everyone to help, when they needed it. It is the first course like this I have done and feel very inspired to do another-maybe even the Christmas one!"

Joanne reviewed: Making a stained glass art hanging

"I received this day course as a Christmas gift from my partner, following me saying how I’d like to try something new and give me the chance to get creative. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed myself, learning some new skills and bringing home a finished piece I’m proud to call my own. Caryl was a great teacher, giving us the confidence to get stuck in (after the initial housekeeping rules) and the small class size (5 of us) meant she was able to give us all one to one time. We had access to lots of glass - of various shades and textures - so was able to get our creative juices flowing! I am looking forward to signing myself up to another course soon!"

Irene Martin reviewed: Make a spindle-back chair

"Making my chair was a challenging undertaking as I had never done anything like this before. Peter was very patient in introducing and helping me with the new skills needed. It was inspiring to make a beautiful object starting from a log of wood and using traditional tools. The woodland setting is perfect for this course. I am delighted with my chair."

Julie Scales reviewed: Spring Cushion Crochet Workshop

"This course is great. I moved on to this from a beginners 10week course. The tutor Sarah is showing us how to do something different each week eg. a new stitch or pattern, how to join squares, creating a border around your work. We have new projects galore to then work on at home. Would recommend this course."

Rachael Magson reviewed: Mosaic workshop at Jackie Nash Art

"We had a lovely time with Jackie - a very special day for me, my mom, my best friend and her mom to celebrate a 60th birthday. Jackie was friendly and her house is amazing! Such a pleasure to have a view into her world and to share her house and studio with us. More than that Jackie is a real expert and is a fantastic guide - she inspired our designs and helped us shape our ideas and gave us lots of tips. We were all amazed at the quality of what we produced in a day - and some things to really treasure. I would highly recommend."

Jennifer reviewed: Needle felting workshop - Create your own woodland creature

"I attended the course on Monday 12th February as a Christmas treat to myself, as I had always wanted to try needle felting. The venue (Bonds) is easy to get to with lots of free parking. Denise is lovely and very patient, the pace of the course is great and we were able to ask lots of questions about techniques and wool types. The day flew by and before we knew it we were taking home a lovely little felted fox :) And the food - oh my gosh it was the nicest soup and sandwich i'd tasted in a long while and cake and coffee in the afternoon! It felt like a real treat of a day! I showed a friend what I had made and she wants to have a go to, so I suspect we'll be booking on another course in the very near future! One word of warning though - if you attend this course (if you are anything like me) you will: a) Become addicted to needle felting b) End up spending some more money in Bonds as they have so many lovely things on sale (I ended up with a lovely new scarf to end the day! To sum up - if you are a complete novice and want to give needle felting a go, book yourself on this course - you won't be disappointed. See you again soon Denise!"

Tina Huber reviewed: Beginner hand spinning - 1 to 1 instruction

"I purchased a spinning wheel a while ago, waxed and assembled it, but could not get the hang of spinning despite many attempts and watching numerous YouTube How-To’s. Before frustration set in I searched for a course/tutor to give me a hands-on workshop. I found Paivi on Craft Courses and after looking at her website felt inspired by her creativity and range of skills and so booked the Beginner’s Workshop. I took along my own wheel as I wanted someone with experience to check that it was set up correctly. Paivi made some adjustments; explaining why the wheel would work better with some simple technical tweaks. Paivi introduced spinning very gradually; demonstrating herself then patiently watching me as I got to grips with the basics. Paivi’s knowledge of fleece and spinning meant that she could break the process down into smaller, manageable steps that slowly built up to spinning fleece. She offered explanations for what was happening; if the tension needed adjusting etc. as I worked. Paivi has a wonderful, well-stocked workshop not just for spinning but for dyeing and weaving too – this led to many interesting conversations. By the end of the workshop I had experienced a variety of wool – each having quite a different ‘feel’. I came away with a bag of things to try/practice with and feeling I had ‘made friends’ with my spinning wheel! Thank you Paivi!"
