M Abery reviewed: Leather travel journal workshop

"An excellent day - really enjoyable and thrilled with the journals I made. Lynne was a great teacher - explained everything well, provided well set out learning materials and ensured we practised during the day on our own so I’m confident I can make more of them to an equally high standard. She also generously provided delicious cake, which helped us along!"

imra reviewed: Enamel screen printing on glass - Coasters decorations or panel

"I really enjoyed this course with Helen who is an excellent teacher and is obviously an expert in her field. Helen demonstrated the screen printing technique to us and was then available for help and advice. There were lots of examples of her beautiful work for ideas and inspiration and lots of beautiful coloured paints to choose from. I found that there was plenty of time to make the design stencils and to use them to produce two coasters /or decorations without rushing. I would recommend this course to anyone who likes crafts and wants to try something different. I'm looking forward to getting my coasters back in the post."

Helen Tiffany Glass responded:

"Thank you Imra, I am so pleased you enjoyed the course!"

Chrissy Faery reviewed: Beginner’s Soapmaking Workshop in Salisbury

"Wow! What a wonderful day! Cat is an amazing teacher, who went above and beyond to make the class informative, interesting, friendly and fun! Cat's demonstration was easy-to-follow and understand, and when we were making the soap, she was so patient, kind and supportive. (She has an absolute wealth of knowledge about soap making, herbs and natural skincare and was more than happy to help everyone out and answer any questions we had!) The soap we made smells absolutely divine, and I love that it's made with natural, vegan ingredients! Thank you so much for such a beautiful day. I couldn't recommend this class more highly, and we'd love to do another of your courses in the future! <3 xx"

Shoko Tada reviewed: Make your very own Tote bag

"Excellent workshop. In a day, I leant so much about leather, tools to use for making leather goods, and how to use them. I somehow expected that I had to choose leather from very limited range or work on already pre-cut leather swatches, but actually it was much better experience as Richard let us choose the leather type / color and have flexibility of sizes etc. Highly recommended"

Murphy reviewed: Oak stool making experience - rustic carpentry & green wood work

"The oak stool making workshop was excellent. The entire day was paced well, with a nice balance of hands-on instruction and space to work. Ian's instructions were clear and straight forward, and he was very encouraging throughout. The learning curve was handled well, even for someone who hasn't really done anything like this before, and it was left up to us how intricate or involved we wanted our final design to be. The quality of the final product is very high; it would certainly be something I would have wanted to purchase in a shop, but with the added bonus that I carved it myself! I'm very interested in pursuing this craft further, and would definitely work with Ian on further courses."

Ceara Mongan reviewed: Skincare Workshops using Herbal Infusions

"There was a delay in me attending this course, and when I arrived for a skin making couse Dianne was prepared for a Business Making workshop. I had previously attended a soap one to one, and was told that if I booked the cosmetics course on that day, that she would also give me the information for the business course. I had to rush back on the day, and due to the mixup regarding the course booked, I only ended up making one 100ml lotion. My family were hoping for some goodies when I returned ? Dianne is very welcoming and knowledgeable, but for £99 one to one workshops, you could definitely make more items, or a couple of soaps in that time."

Aroma Natural responded:

"Hi Ceara, thank you for your review. I am sorry you could only stay for 3hrs instead of the full 5-6hrs which this workshop is, and would have given you ample time to make the three products instead of the one. The One to One Business workshop is also a full on 5-6hr day so I'm glad we were able to fit in as much as we did in the 3hrs. Hope you enjoy using your moisturiser."

Ceara Mongan reviewed: 1-1 organic skincare workshops in Norfolk

"I really cannot recommend Allison's workshops enough!!! I have attended two different cosmetics workshops in the Norfolk area, and this course by far was hands down the best!!! You really couldn't even compare the two!!! Alison has so much passion and knowledge to give, and provides in depth cosmetics knowledge, both in the area of ingredients and the business side. She continues to fully support me to this day, which is such a beautiful thing for her to do!!! I came away with lip balms, facial oils, lotions and toners, and had beautiful goodies to hand out to my whole family! Which were all thoroughly loved. Looking forward to seeing Allison again!"

"Had a lovely day. I love all sorts of crafts, but had never done any jewellery making before. Jo is wonderful, friendly and passionate about teaching people new skills. "A lovely morning spent with Rebecca! Great tuition and help as soon as you needed it, we’re rather chuffed with our fabric samples and have shown them off to anyone who’ll listen! Saving for a loom of our own has begun... we’ll be back to learn how to set it up"

Brian Wentworth reviewed: Wood turning courses in the Midlands

"The course with Mark was a present from my wife for a significant birthday (oh alright it was70). I had done some woodturning in the past, but none since 2003. Having explained my previous experience (or lack of) to Mark when booking he asked me to bring along my tools and examples of previous work. The day started with a review and discussion of my woodturning. Mark outlined the programme for the day and his approach. After a safety briefing we moved on to some practice spindle turning and finally bowl turning. This resulted in a lovely elm bowl for my wife, now standing pride of place on the dresser. As mentioned Mark provided an excellent days practical training, also as importantly we discussed the craft and how to avoid being a collector of gadgets and gizmos (guilty as charged) which often prove of limited benefit to a general hobby turner. On reflection I think the course has paid for itself by stopping me getting carried away on the internet and at shows. We started at 9:00am and finished at 7:20pm with a short break for lunch and numerous coffees. All in all a most excellent and enjoyable day during which I re-acquired practical skills and gained a great deal of useful information."

Tommy reviewed: Spoon carving for beginners - morning

"Had an absolutely lovely evening with Stephen learning the basics of green woodworking to make my first spoon which I then presented to my niece for her birthday. Everything about the workshop is wonderful but I particularly liked the relaxed and almost meditative atmosphere that Stephen facilitates. Someone mentioned that after your first spoon carving class you won't be able to walk through the woodlands the same ever again, all around you'll be looking at branches and fallen trees seeing their potential inner spoons. I've certainly got the bug, thanks for introducing me to a life skill."

David and Kate Martin reviewed: Beginners introductory pyrography course in Lincolnshire

"This one day course, run by Susan, was a very enjoyable and useful introduction to pyrography. She was able to tailor both speed and content so both my wife and I were able to progress nicely at our own pace, concentrating on wood, for me, and leather for Kate. The instruction was very well paced and delivered; we both achieved a lot in the day and we now have a solid foundation for progressing further. Highly recommended."

Naomi reviewed: Flower crown workshop & bubbly in Brighton

"Had a great time making flower crowns in Charlie’s class. I wasn’t sure it was exactly my thing before I arrived but Charlie was a good teacher and I found the process of putting the crowns together to be relaxing and therapeutic. We all left with a really lovely self-made crown that we were happy to wear for the rest of the day!"

Lorna Field reviewed: Highland stool making course - Scottish Highlands

"I was very lucky to receive a green woodworking course gift voucher to make a Highland Stool with Aaron Sterritt. Aaron is a very skilled young man who has set up this business where folk like me can come and have an enlightening experience, with very good tuition and the benefit of taking home something special that you have made yourself. The actual location within a wooded area in the Logie estate is enough to relax you and help you recognise the link between the environment and the challenge that awaits you. This is very far from making something already half prepared for you. You pick out your green wood which you chop into sizeable pieces that will form the legs of your stool. Each person has a shave horse on which you use the appropriate tools to shave down the legs till smooth and revealing all the glorious colours and natural contours of the wood. The legs are dried out overnight in the kiln ready to be attached to the seat, using different coloured wedges to secure the joint as well as making an attractive finish. There is a lot of shaving, sanding, drinking tea/coffee, chatting to and learning from the others on the course and of course Aaron. I would seriously recommend anyone with an affinity with wood or even to outdoors to consider doing one of Aaron’s courses. He even sends you the plans to make your own shave horse should you wish to do some green woodworking at home. Lorna Field (Course 8th & 9th June)"

Tony reviewed: Stone carving for beginners - Weymouth

"I had never done anything like this before (I may be a scientist and psychologist, definitely not an artist!) but I loved my taster workshop and being able to discover the curled up cat sleeping a few millimetres below the surface of a beautiful piece of Portland stone: a revelation to passer-bys, viewers, and a miracle to me! John is a great teacher! Thank you! …. and I shall come back next birthday if I may …."
