"Very good introduction to stone sculpture, my 12 year old son absolutely loved it and definitely wants to do again! Sebastian gave him excellent guidance, but just as importantly allowed freedom to experiment in his own way. We are now acquiring tools! We both really enjoyed it and felt we had achieved something, and from my point of view as a complete beginner working 3D! I would definitely recommend to anyone wanting to try sculpting for the first time."

"I bought the pallet upcyling course as a birthday present for my boyfriend and we both had the most fab day with David building a chair. David was so helpful, and I really liked the fact the course felt unique to the team on the day, as we worked out the best way to take apart the particular pallets we had, and the best way to approach the design and build of the chair using what was salvaged (rather than following a set blueprint for a chair design, with no input from us). The course inspired us to do more pallet upcycling - we built ourselves a table to go with our chairs the next day! Would definitely recommend."

"We had a day to remember at Strawberry Steel with Colin. Set in a lovely field with views to the hills, Ox House Forge is a retreat away from the stresses of modern life. Colin welcomed us warmly and gave us a tour of the facilities. After talking through the health and safety essentials, we put on our tinted safety glasses (we looked like something out of men in black!) and leather aprons, and watched the master craftsman show us how it's done. Colin was a fantastic teacher, very knowledgeable, patient and attentive, giving space for us to try different techniques, and offering a helping hand where needed. There was no pressure, and if you made a mistake Colin would show you how to fix it, or give you another piece of steel to have another go! The beauty of this craft is being able to make unique pieces, that are perfectly imperfect, and that's the charm! A family dropped by while we were there and stopped to watch us for a while. Colin gave the little boy some safety glasses so he could look a little closer... I think it made his day! By the time we sat down for lunch together, hours had flown by and we hadn't even noticed. Colin's enthusiasm for the craft was infectious, and we really enjoyed every minute. We thought that we might get to make one thing each to take away, but by the end of the day we were astounded not only by what we had achieved, but Colin's generosity in letting us take everything home. We have really beautiful (and useful!) hand crafted pieces to treasure, including a fire poker, toasting forks and a LOT of coat hooks! Colin even gifted us one of the beautiful acorns he had been making for another project. We would love to go back again one day, and will be telling all our friends and family about it. We haven't laughed so much in a long time and would really recommend the day to couples looking for some quality time together doing something really magical. We'll be wearing our blistered fingers as a badge of honour for the next week!"

"We had a fantastic day with Colin on the 30 April. He was welcoming, informative and a very good teacher and the whole day was nicely paced. Having attended a blacksmithing day at another forge exactly a year ago, the day with Colin was much more enjoyable and instructive such that we came away with several useable (and attractive) hooks, toasting forks and plant supports!"

"There's magic at the bottom of this lady's garden. Spent a very enjoyable and productive day with the incredible Silver Designed Personally. I have always wanted to make a pair of my own earrings and the teacher was so helpful and inspiring. Lovely setting too! Great 'sandwich' lunch and supply of green tea. Would recommend this experience as a unique and creative day!"

"This course was brilliant. Sarah our tutor was professional, friendly and extremely knowledgeable. She was easy to talk to and didn’t mind how many questions you asked her. I went with two friends and we all three had a great time and were very pleased with our pieces of furniture we took home. Sarah also does commissions and sells her furniture on Etsy. I will definitely be keeping an eye on it. Overall a brilliant course for the money. Two lovely days of fun and learning with great people, and she also gave us two great lunches. I have since done two more pieces of furniture. I would definitely recommend this course."

"What a brilliant time we all had. Lindsey gave excellent instructions and we all went home with good written instructions to continue with our candle making. The supplies and organisation were amazing and Lindsey kept us well supplied with tea coffee and biscuits! "I really couldn't have enjoyed this course more. Peter and Lulu create a fantastic atmosphere and with their knowledge, encouragement and endless enthusiasm (and cups of tea!), everyone on the course was able to let their creativity bloom and learn new skills in the process. I'd had no previous experience of green woodworking but with Peter's expert guidance and incredible patience I feel I've come away with far more knowledge than I expected in just 6 days and a unique piece of furniture that will be enjoyed for years to come. The course is set in a beautiful rural setting and was a joy to arrive to each morning and I was reluctant to leave each evening. As someone says above, don't expect to be able to pop to the shops for lunch, so don't forget to bring something and don't forget your suncream! It's on the coast but no beach holiday and the reward for your hard work is a fabulous, one off, future family heirloom piece of wooden furniture."

"I had a great time at the silver leaf jewellery making day with Sara, so wanted to post a review! If you enjoy making things and want to try something different this is perfect for you. Sara took me through all the steps and let me try all sorts of tools (flame torch was a favourite for me!). The day was very insightful, fun and I came away with a beautiful leaf pendant. Sara is an awesome tutor who is really friendly and encouraging and I can't not mention her workshop and garden which are absolutely gorgeous!"

"The Green Man course was brilliant. Everything on the course was excellently prepared. We got a lovely individual tool roll to use and our stone was marked out ready for us so we could get on carving. The demo's were great and there were lots of individual attention. The workshop was very clean, with a nice kitchen and toilets. The biscuits and fruit kept me going during the breaks. I had a little trouble finding the entrance (it's round the back of the main Mill and I drove right past it), so I would leave a little extra time to find it on the first day. I'm really proud of my green man - thank you for all your help!"

"We recently booked Alison of Maid in the Meadow to provide a lip balm making workshop at our local village hall for a group of 14 ladies. We all had a wonderful time, learned lots about natural skin care products, and went home with some lovely handmade lip balms and facial oils. Alison went above and beyond in terms of the amount of effort she put into making this a thoroughly enjoyable, informative and entertaining morning for us all. In fact, we had such a great time that we have already booked Alison to come back and teach us how to make more products to give to friends and family as Christmas presents!"
